Ten was pretty ?

That's about the only good thing that comes to my mind right now, SADLY.

There was no plot, the secondary characters where UNBELIEVABLY irritating and the whole thing looked ridiculous about 90% of the time.

ETA : okay I *loved* Russell Tovey (History Boys <3) and the fact that his character was named Alonzo XD
He would have made a fantastic companion.
The rest of the characters were still rubbish though.


Astrid Peth was so BLAND, I just couldn't give a toss about her !
Oh Martha, your win is sorely missed.

And moments like the Doctor carried away by the angels and the flight of the Titanic above Buckingham Palace made me facepalm so hard I almost hurt myself.

I'll sleep on it and wait to see if a second watching makes it better, I really hope so.



Fortunately the series 4 teaser ROCKED like a ROCKING thing OMG.

I'm so thrilled that Ten and Donna are snogging that it almost erased the whole EPIC FAIL that was this christmas special.

HOW IN HELL DID THEY MANAGE THAT ??? I felt so dirty watching it. Not in a good way.

And the shipping felt so unecessary and forced here, there wasn't even proper chemistry between the two actors to excuse it.

I don't know how/why I imagined Kylie could actually act. She didn't. But then there wasn't much there to grab, the dialogue was fucking abysmal.

Shipping won't work when there isn't any interesting characterisation to actually CREATE that fucking chemistry. You need some sparks there, for fuckssakes, you need actual characters! It was about as interesting as watching two stupid (and thus unattractive) drunken people snogging and groping next to you. Le sigh.

You nailed the problem, right there. I felt so completely detached from *air quote*the emotional turn of events*air quote* since the character of Astrid didn't grab me at all (in fact there was nothing to grab). Thus, Ten's interest was far from credible to me.

I really, really need fic which starts with the Doctor entering the Tardis and the Master waiting for him on the jumpseat, dressed in a tux, riding crop in hand, sneering at Ten. First mocking him for not inviting him along, but then tasting Astrid on his lips and proceeding to beat the shit out of him for shagging human wimmins again. Until the Doctor begs for mercy/more/tiemcock and ORDER IS RESTORED.

I WANT TO SHOP THIS. But dunno how in the fucking fuck I'd find a good tux sprawl bodyshot that'd be anywhere near as hot as the classic Simm Sprawl(TM). But I can try.
