He's not quitting ATWT, ATWT is being cancelled. That's just the writers not able to write a TRIANGLE and the headwriter not giving a fuck about making either fanbase happy in the end (because Reid dies at the end) so Lurids are heartbroken too and we won't have enough Noah to have a satisfying Nuke ending.
