SO MUCH AWESOMENESS IN THE NUKE FANDOM LAST NIGHT I STILL FEEL DIZZY.

** KERI ([livejournal.com profile] oktoberskies) made a new Nuke vid for Holly's bday and I can't stop watching it since then *LOVES*

luke/noah; here we go again

** We *finally* got some Hansis news (stop being MIA you ho!) which made me realize how much I missed his face. First, Ryan from BlazinRy Radio (who is an old college pal of Jake and did a cracky 'college reunion' itw with him a few weeks ago) announced that he would do a radio interview with Van in december. And yes the fact that Van's getting interviewed by a friend of Jake totally made my night #JansisForLife
AND THEN, awesome nukie ninjas decided to strike and release 6568793649687469 new headshots he did in LA recently (only one of them is in HQ but BOOOY). VAN HANSIS IS FLAWLESS. We shall also have a video itw with Welovesoaps very soon so, MY VAN HANSIS FANGIRLY HEART IS FINALLY SATISFIED.

** Meanwhile, Jake (that other ho) keeps teasing us on FaBo about exciting news coming up and you better meet the expectations you're creating, Silbermann. He is also displaying a ridiculous amount of awesomeness by liking comments about Goutman and his asshole ways.

** Darren Criss on glee was seen and fangirled intensely over ! I loved the episode and Blaine is so far just as cool as he said he would be in his interviews *hearts* Darren was trending worldwide on twitter on tuesday night and there's already rumors that he is about to get promoted as series regular ! I'm so proud of him omg !
I was immediately on board with Kurt/Blaine, even if I still am a Sam/Kurt shipper and I still believe in it (especially with the latest spoilers). Let's hope for a triangle, even!
It also made me rewatch AVPM and STILLSOMUCHLOVE. "Quirrel... Ok is wonderful !" is like, one of my favoritest moment of anything, EVER!

** I'm still enjoying Hollyoaks's twisted Ste/Bren storyline and even if right now, I feel really uncomfortable shipping them, next week's spoilers could change that reaaaally fast. Steven is totally mah BB, he hurts so prettily and is so sweeeet <3 Brendan is a pure delight. The more psycho he gets, the more I bloody love him. Emmett is incredible in the role.
Here's an epic Brendan centric fanvid set very fittingly to Radiohead's Creep :

BRENDAN, YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARD AND YOUR MAGNIFICENT PORNSTACHE.

** I'm off to London this weekend! WHEEEEEEEEEEEE IT'S BEEN A WHOLE YEAR SINCE I'VE BEEN WHICH IS VERY LONG FOR ME. I come back on monday night. We'll enjoy some plays while we're there and most importantly feast our eyes ON SOME ACTORS RELEVANT TO OUR FANNISH INTERESTS !
We'll see Design for Living on saturday with Andrew Scott (Sherlock's Moriarty) and on sunday night, tiem to enjoy on stage MAI LOVE,

BENEDICT

CUCUMBERPATCH

and other lovely actors and actresses such as Eddie Redmayne *noms*, Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley, Charlie Cox, Romola Garai, Curtis from Misfits and many more in the Children's Monologues, a play directed by Danny Boyle. ... AMLDKAMLSDKSAMLDKASLMDKALMSDKASLD!!!!!!!!!11!!1 MY EXCITEMENT. LET ME SHOW U IT.

** I'm a major dork. I'm kinda allowing myself to hope that we could find Charlie. I KNOW IT WON'T HAPPEN BUT I CAN'T HELP IT.

** Speaking of, Misfits series 2 starts tonight ! I AM ALSO EXCITEEEED. It'll feel so good to have the awesomest brat ever on my screen again <333 Hope I'll have time to catch up with it before we leave on saturday.
Tomorrow is raclette partay at [livejournal.com profile] castalie & [livejournal.com profile] nicelyobsessed's place, I AM ALSO EXCITE. I THINK IT IS MY ONLY MODE THIS WEEK.
rosengirl: (ATWT : Jansis will go on and on and on)
This is the vid they showed Jake and Van at the Boston Nuke con yesterday.

Sweet Disposition - Fan Friendship Tribute

It was made by the awesome [livejournal.com profile] frances_veritas, [livejournal.com profile] oktoberskies and [livejournal.com profile] solostrightnow.

The editing is FANTASTIC and they chose awesome quotes from Jake and Van to go with it, it was really touching. Yup I'm a sap and I totally got teary :)

It captured every single positive feelings I have about all of this fandom experience beautifully. The awesomeness of Van and Jake and the way it totally made me and Galouz closer than ever as it did for a lot of us in this too. I really think it goes beyond a love for a pairing.

I'm glad the boys have been able to see it, honestly you all did an incredible job girls !

(You can see myself and [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss amongst other awesome fan pics and vid bits.)

This reminds me that no matter how much the actual show spit in our face in the end, they'll never take *this* away from us.
I will go on loving Nuke no matter what.

Hiatus !

So I'm off with my dear [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss for a short holiday to Ireland \o/

If anything life changing hits the internet while we're there, please, keep me updated in the comments.

By life changing I mean any kind of squeeful things relevant to my interests, of course.

So we saw Inception with [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy, [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss and [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall on friday night and as far as I'm concerned, I thought it was an excellent film but it didn't meet my expectations.

That's thanks to the huge hype that was all about how revolutionary and groundbreaking it was. Well one sequence actually was (I kept wondering how they did it) but the rest ? Not so much.
I did love it, the cast was incredible, the action scenes were neat and the scenario was very solid, it was good SF. But I didn't feel like it would leave the same impact as say Matrix had on me, at all.
I had no trouble to follow which was probably kudos to the long ass first 40 minutes dedicated to explain everything. TOO MUCH TIME EXPLAINING EVERYTHING OMG. Of course as soon as they started the mission, it became all kinds of awesome and I really was sucked into it.

But anyway the important things about this film are :

Joseph Gordon Levitt should always dress like this. HOLY HOTNESS BATMAN.

Arthur/Eames. I SHIP IT HARD.

We had a lovely fannish night/saturday at Cath's getting Cookie acquainted with Glee and Community. We also rewatched the That 70's Show episode with Joseph in it HAHAHA.
Galouz and I finished the night/early morning with watching random (good) Nuke parts when the other two went to bed because we're horrible junkies like that and it took us two more hours to stop talking and actually sleep (for 3 hours, eh). Like I said to her it was worth it tho <3

Last night I listened to the Doctor Who Prom live and OMGSOGOOD. I can't wait to actually see it because Matt, Arthur and Karen sounded adorable and I want that OST so so hard now.
The pics made me die again today. WOULD YOU LOOK AT THOSE TUX OMG. I love how Karen is towering over both of them with her heels, hee.

Sherlock starts tonight ! Love the trailer and I'm really excited and curious about it.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have A Very Potter Sequel to catch up with. TEEHEE.

ETA : HOW FUCKING AWESOME WAS THIS ?

Gawd I wish I had been there. ELEVEN YOU ARE MY FAVOURITE. IT R JUST FACT.
rosengirl: (70's : Hyde awesome)
No meme today, I'm off in about 5 mins to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall, [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss and [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy to spend the evening in Paris and go see Inception at last.

We'll end the night at Cath's and spend tomorrow there to have a lazy saturday hanging out and fangirling.

See ya all !
rosengirl: (ATWT : Van/Jake so not subtle)
Unsurprisingly enough, yesterday was THE GREATEST DAY IN THE HISTORY OF EVER. I waited 8 months for this and I'm so glad that it even exceeded my expectations. And I didn't even make a fool of myself so it was pretty awesomesauce from begining to end.

Jake Silbermann and Van Hansis. Sigh. They're even sweeter, dorkier, funnier and more stupifyingly gorgeous in person. It's like I had so much love for them before even meeting them but now everything is amplified by a billion.

I'm also so happy to have shared this amazing day with my sweet half brain, [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss, who kept dying of flail with me and my lovely [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy. Love you girls !

So there you go. Should be impossible for them to be *this* awesome and gorgeous and yet it's BLINDING. I still can't believe I was there and yet I was AND IT WAS FANFUCKINTASTIC.

I SAW THIS WITH THE AWESOME [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss AND [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy AND WE HAD A BLAST. THX AGAIN CATH THAT WAS QUITE A FANNISH NIGHT.
rosengirl: (ATWT : Van/Jake GQ MOFO <3)
Vincent and The Doctor was completely brilliant y/y ? It may be my new favourite of the season (and my fave historical ep from all of new who).
Kudos Richard Curtis, Tony Curran and Bill Nighy (for the most awesome cameo ever !). I loved the emphasis on the character's feelings and the continuity with the terrible, soulcrushing thing that happened at the end of the previous episode * LE SIGH*
It had the right amount of darkness, lolz, sadness and sweet moments. I was incredibly moved by it and as a former art student and lover, felt really connected to the story.

This series is simply amazing. I haven't felt so in love with Doctor Who since series 3 (which was the best dw series up until now for me. Unpopular as it may be. Well, less unpopular than series 2 hahaha.).

Let's talk about my two gorgeous, amazing, awesomely talented and busy Favorite Boys of All Time.

Van got a part in a stylish, creepy looking independent horror movie called Occupant.

And then he proceeded to do a tiny itw about it to KILL EVERYONE WITH HIS GORGEOUSNESS.

His hotness should be forbidden, for safety issues and stuff.

As for Jake... OH BOY. Well he's turning into a fine badass mofo tattooed all over to play a dealer in his short film Stuffer. And. Hum. ARE THEY BOTH TRYING TO KILL THEIR FANS ? Coz I've choked on my own drool by that point. That's not on.

Lady, I want your job SFM.

My interest for this project just went through the roof. Be still my shallow heart.

Most importantly, I'm meeting these american gods in like, 32 days for the Nuke in Paris event. I DON'T THINK I'M READY. I TRY NOT TO THINK ABOUT IT OR MY HEAD WILL EXPLODE.

Tomorrow in ATWT, THIS HAPPENS :

FUCK YEAH \o/

I mean. ILU Reid but come on ! YOU HAD IT COMING. And now I just can't stop watching Noah punching your face over and over and over again. Also, Luke's face is all "oh well, I guess this was coming" which is LOLERSKATES.

In other news I got mah darling [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss to fall hardcore for Johnny Weir, which makes me INSANELY HAPPY. WE HAVE THE BEST TASTE, TRUFAX. Shutup.

I'm finally home after an amaaaaaazing 5 days trip to Edinburgh/Glasgow with [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss.

We stayed at [livejournal.com profile] foui_the_brave's place in Edinburgh for two days and then went to Glasgow on saturday to see Flight of the Conchords <3
I won't go into details but THEIR LIVE IS MADE OF COMPLETE AWESOME ! I'm so glad we managed to get tickets and were able to go because it really was brilliant, with lots of new stuff and impro. We waited for them afterwards and it was one of the most nice and laid back stage door I ever did. (Bret came out with shortbread biscuits to offer to people, he offered me one XD).

We were supposed to come back yesterday but our flight was cancelled and the airport almost completely closed because of the ash cloud.

So we spent the whole day in the aiport today (our flight was delayed) but we finally made it and it was so worth the trouble anyway.

I have like a gazillion things to catch up on but most importantly Doctor Who to see !

I'm going back to the UK this weekend (Nottingham) to see SIMON AMSTELL !! I AM SO EXCITED I CAN BARELY CONTROL MY SQUEE. Oh. My. God. It better be fucking epic !

In other news I had my fastest addiction to a new show + fandom ever with the pilot episode of White Collar *points to icon*

It's sassy, shiny, classy and UBER SLASHY.

I'm already dying of the wait for 102 and have read pretty much every slash fics produced in the (already impressively active) fandom.

Oh and also today's SJA Killed. Me. OF AWESOME !! (re : the next tweet batch).
rosengirl: (Chuck : run for your lives)
WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!

I'm currently packing stuff for my awesome fangirly weekend in London with [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss and [livejournal.com profile] ephyse !

This fannish trip entails :

- Tim Minchin's Read For This show tomorrow night
- John Barrowman in drag in La Cage Aux Folles on saturday afternoon
- JOHN SIMM IN SPEAKING IN TONGUES ON SATURDAY NIGHT YUUUUUUUUS !!

There's also plans to go to the Hawley Arms and the Tate Britain at some point.

It's going to be Epic !

YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE IS EPIC ?

WHY, THE LAST 6 EPISODES OF CHUCK SEASON 2 !

I... It just made me expire from squee. Between Awesome, Brice Larkin and Scott Bakula and and the burning hotness of Tricia Helfer AND THE UPGRADED INTERSECT.

Just major \o/

(I even had to make space for a Chuck icon, that's how FTW it was.)

Criminal Minds and Glee finished me off because they also ROCKED this week.
Now I'm waiting for Sarah Jane to dl and I'm reading Chuck fics (ZOMG CAN IT BE JANUARY ALREADY ?)

I wholeheartedly approve of the glimpse of the new TARDIS interior. I wasn't expecting this at all but I love the steampunk feel and the fact that it kept the current one's colour scheme.

I'll end this post with the prettiness that is the new Legend of the Seeker season 2 promo poster :

rosengirl: (HP : AVPM Pigfarts Pigfarts here I come)
I'm back in France, sadly, because I had the most amazing of times in Scotland.

I saw some gorgeous places and stayed in beautiful and interesting cities (Edinburgh, Inverness and Glasgow).

I had the chance to spend a lovely evening with the awesome [livejournal.com profile] marah_sarie and enjoyed some of the Edinburgh festival with the hilarious Scottish Falsetto Puppet theater and Rhys Darby's new standup show which was made of complete win.

I already miss spending so much time with [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss, [livejournal.com profile] abella_08 and [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall, the breathtaking beauty of the Lochs, the LOTR-ish magnificence of Isle of Skye and most of all, the sweet sweet melody of bagpipes in the streets and men in kilts.

I'll do some sort of report with pictures asap.
Right now I'm going to try catching up with the Flist and squee over my shiny new Black Guardian Thrilogy which came by the mail while I was away (heeee ♥TURLOUGH♥)
rosengirl: (DW : old skool two/jamie is AMAAZING!)

So that's it then. I'm off with the lovelies [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss, [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall and [livejournal.com profile] abella_08 to wander around Scotland and stay a bit in Edinburgh, Inverness and Glasgow.

We'll frolick in the Highlands, run around ancient battle grounds shouting "YOU CAN TAKE OUR LIVES BUT YOU'll NEVER TAKE OUR FREEDOM" and sing A Very Potter Musical while visiting Alnwick Castle Hogwarts.

And it's going to be totally awesome.

See ya all soon.

xx
rosengirl: (TMB : Howard/Vince Man and Wife)
Nothing HP related, hopefully (even if I'm writing this with the Very Potter Musical playing in the background *needs that soundtrack to be out more than she needs air)

First there's the 100 reasons to watch Criminal Minds picspam which made me LMAO.

And then Noel and Julian's first ever appearance in an american talk show :

It's classic Noel/Julian banter and is absolutely lovely. I CANNOT believe that Julian cracked the first joke. He looks so at ease now O.O (and he is letting his hair grow back \o/)
Now if only someone would stop Noel from wearing his shiny boots I WOULD BE FOREVER GLAD. I'm so sick of them D:
I do believe them when they say that they plan to do a film and a new series which is why it will never happen.
GET TO WORK YOU FILTHY AMERICAN PLEASING LAZY WANKERS !

Last week and yesterday I spent some time with [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss squeeing mindlessly and continuously about Harry Potter seing awesome films that I was too lazy to review.

We saw The Reader which I loved for its actors, its dubious morality and the overall gorgeousness.

We discovered David Kross who played the young Michael Berg and the least I can say is that he is very gifted in every way and his career will probably be worth following.

ExpandHullo thar )

They had crazy hawt chemistry and he was extremely pretty when he cried *___*

Of course Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes were, as expected, brilliant.

Yesterday we saw The Young Victoria for the ever so sumptuous Emily Blunt, which we both fell in love with since we saw Sunshine Cleaning together and she was again delicious.

Paul Bettany and Rupert Friend were also excellent and yummy. Oh and it had unexpected!ORSUM Jim Broadbent <3333333333333333

After the film we came to the conclusion that victorian fashion should totally come back for men. There's really nothing more dashing and sexier than all those layers of gorgeous fabric.
rosengirl: (Dexter : killing has never been so hot)
*gah* So much to update about. SO LAZY.

So last weekend I invited [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss, [livejournal.com profile] foui_the_brave (aka Untitled) and [livejournal.com profile] ephyse to watch Children of Earth Day 5 all together for the first time (*hmmph* *kicks Eph*) and do a little marathon of the whole thing afterwards to celebrate Torchweek.
So we did watch Day 5 in shocking silence because honestly, I for my part, was fucking horrified. But in a good way ! I think that the series as a whole was one of the best piece of television we've had all year and I WILL NEVER FORGET JOHN FROBISHER. HE WAS A GOOD MAN *dies a little inside*

We had a lovely chat afterwards (outside, under the sun *gasps*) and [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss left us for the night because she had to wake up early the next day for the french HP premiere (which I'm glad she did now because she was able to warn me about the big cuts they made in the story, more on that later).

We never got the COE marathon under way because we realized that all in one go so soon after having seen it would have probably ended with us killing ourselves. We did rewatch *that* death though and I didn't cry this time :) (which meant that I actually heard what they were saying lol).

So we had a comedy night instead, and it felt really good after all the gloom and doom fest of Torchweek. We watched both Alan and Jimmy Carr'stand up. I only knew Jimmy Carr through the big fat quizz but OMFG HE IS HILARIOUS. I mean you want to slap him hard because his humor is horrific and he has the most annoying face ever but you can't help yourself from laughing like mad. His impro skills are really impressive.
We also watched some bits and pieces of Tim Minchin'So Fucking Rock (♥) and Foui introduced us to Eddie Izzard which I knew by reputation but I'm so glad she did because INSTA LOVE for the man. We finished the night with Let's Go To Prison at Eph's request and she loved it so much that I could talk her through snagging my Arrested Development s1 boxset :D

Thanks again girls, I had a lovely geeky weekend ♥

I have now my hands on the 4 stand up shows of Jimmy Carr (watched In Concert and Live) and Eddie Izzard's Dress To Kill (which was watched and LUUUUVED).

Those days I'm cheating on my OTP because I kinda... Fell back into Ten/Jack and am reading anything post COE with them in it. I blame it on my love for COE!Jack and his awesome character development, and me being obsessed by the follow up to the series.

I also fell back into Dexter because I caught up with season 3 in two days AND IT WAS MADE OF WIN. Well the ending was less good than the previous two finales but the Dexter/Miguel Prado storyline kept me on the edge of my seat. The actors had an incredible chemistry ! Oh and Michael C. Hall ? Still nom nom nomable and brilliant *__*

I still have Alias season 5 to watch and Chuck to caught up with and then I'll be able to try something new.

ExpandThe list of shows I would like to watch next )

In other news I saw Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince yesterday with the bro and [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss, and apart from the bad seats, I COMPLETELY LOVED IT !

It was gorgeous, both incredibly funny and dark in places. The young cast was the best they've ever been so far and the others were excellent, as always.
JIM BROADBENT STOLE THE WHOLE MOVIE FOR ME. HE WAS UTTERLY PRICELESS AND SPOT ON.

All in all a big YAY for this one. I can't wait to see it in all its IMAX glory when we'll be in Glasgow !

Japan Expo

Jul. 5th, 2009 11:06 pm
rosengirl: (Watchmen : Team Fluffy)
So yesterday I went to the Japan Expo, it's this big Anime/Manga convention happening every year near Paris.

I haven't been in 3 years because I lost interest in those things but this year a professor of mine could get us in for free because he was doing a conference so I decided to go with a school friend.

I was there for 3 reasons : I wanted to say hi to [livejournal.com profile] sambre because I hadn't seen her in ages, I wanted to start giving my CV to some of the publishing houses here and I wanted to check out the new comic con part because Jamie Bamber was a guest for the first edition.

All three went really well. We stayed a bit for my professor's presentation to cheer him on when it was his turn to speak, I got to chat and squee with sambre about various fannish things, 6 publishing houses accepted my CV and I finally found where Jamie Bamber was hidden in this godforsaken gigantic place.

The "french comic con" part was ridiculously tiny and ten times less crowded than the rest of the con which meant, to my delight, that we were only three at the time to see Jamie.

There were no security guys to move us along and you could basically come up to him and chat for as long as you wished. We got to chat 5 minutes because I'm always awkward in those situations but he was extremely nice and his blue eyes drilled holes into my skull. We talked (in french since he's fluent) about the BSG event held in Paris last april, which we both really enjoyed, and I once again said that I really liked him as Matt in Law & Order UK. I told him that it's not my usual kind of show but that I found the stories very gripping and interesting. He said with a smirk that it wasn't his kind of show either which made me laugh.
Then I felt bold enough to tell him that I started watching mostly for Freema and he made this 'oh right' face at me, smiled and said "très jolie fille" (very pretty girl). I started grinning like a loon and hold myself from shouting "DUDE INORITE I AM SO GAY FOR HER YOU HAVE NO IDEA" and said "ooooooh yes" instead. He then signed my BSG s3 boxset and my friend took a pic with his hotness hovering over me and the table.

ExpandJamie Bamber and a lunatic Freema fangirl )

We then continued to walk through the huge crowd and the unbearable heat until we found some junk to buy. I got myself a bag, two keychains and a phone charm and I was proud not to give in and buy a manga.

We crossed this awesome dude cosplayed as Rorschach and I asked Adeline to take his picture because despite the fact that he was surely half dead in his costume, he looked completely fierce.

ExpandRorschach ! )

I found it amusing that he was hanging out with the Joker and Beatrix Kiddo XD
