Things I've watched the last 2 days

Alias season 1 which I'll finish tonight is AWESOMECAKES. I remembered that every 3 episodes they managed to make me yell NO WAI !!!1!!11 back when I watched them for the first time. IT WAS SO AMAZING !
I have seriously fallen for that show all over again <3
I've also watched two gorgeous films.
The Fall

That was an incredible experience ! It moved me to tears and I cried for the last 20 minutes.
Some shots were so breathtakingly beautiful that I have no clue how and where they filmed it.
I loved the two distinctive atmospheres between the hospital scenes (rather gloomy with a greenish lighting) and the sequences from the fantasy story (an explosion of colours).
Lee Pace was incredible at playing the torments of his character. I loved how broken he was and I loved that while he only wanted to manipulate the little girl, he couldn't help himself slowly bonding with her.
The child who played Alexandria is simply the best child actor I have ever seen in a film. She was brilliant and her chemistry with Roy (Lee's character) felt very genuine.
The story was fascinating and got me lost in the fantasy world as much as the two main characters.
Atonement

Another beautiful film with brilliant actors, lovely photography and an excellent story.
I'm not really a fan of Keira Knightley but I found her gorgeous in that role and her chemistry with James McAvoy was wonderful.
McAvoy is pitch perfect as usual, it's always a joy to spend two hours watching him in an outstanding film. I still think his best one is The Last King of Scotland but Atonement came a close second.
The actresses playing Briony at different stage of her life were all really great and I enjoyed her character a lot.
There was some amazingly gorgeous shots in this film as well, especially with the exterior scenes.
I loved the story and did not see the ending coming at all which was both incredibly sad and very beautiful coming from Briony.
I really want to read the novel now !
The latest teevee :
Bwah ! Billie is so very pregnant XD
I liked it this week as well and extra kudos for featuring Ben.
Still intrigued by where her relationship with New Guy is going though. I CANNOT wait for the confrontation between him and Ben next week, woot !
Supernatural is going to be so controversal this year.
AWESOME SEASON PREMIERE WHICH ENDED WAY TOO QUICKLY.
Dean rising from his grave was very Buffy-like.
Bobby ! I loved his reunion with Dean when he just couldn't stop trying to kill him XD
OMG SAM AND DEAN AND AND TEH GAY HUG THAT LASTED FOREVER. I love that random chick pointed the gayness of it to them. I couldn't help noticing that their shared room had a double bed with a mirror on the celling. I guess they made up for all the time they lost.
I love that Sam is a Big Liar That Lies and has a secret agenda that he can't even tell his brother about. It's almost time for Evil!Sam now, yes ?
I don't like Ruby 2.0, she's very blah.
HAHAHAHAHA THE IPOD IN THE IMPALA ! I was laughing hysterically for a good 5 minutes.
I *adore* that they introduced an angel, I just love it that they dared go there. I think it's completely logical if there's demons that angels should exist in this universe too. I know it won't please everybody and it's kinda risky (with God having a mission for Dean and all) but I think it could lead to a damn good plot for the season.
I'm not afraid by how it will be treated since Castiel wasn't exactly shown in the best of light already. And I would love it if that mission would somehow involve stopping Sam when he'll become an evil overlord (OMG HOW EPIC WOULD THAT BEEEEE !).
I JUST LOVE IT THAT THEY DARED GOING THERE AND CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK OMG !
Lost in Austen 101 and the last 3 episodes of Alias season 1 are next.
In non watching news, here is something worthy to read :
All of the people that hated the Bad Wolf Bay scene with Rose and Handy from Journey's End ? Russell T. Davies basically earned loads of respect by giving us reason in his upcoming book.
Here's the interesting and incredibly insightful bit about what was wrong with that scene.
He's thoughts on the matter actually impressed me for once.
Too bad he didn't have the time to change it but it's very reassuring to know that he's aware he screwed up and wasn't thinking he was coming up with the best closure scene evar.
I totally pre-ordered it btw because every quote I've read from it so far are honest and not full of self-worship. It makes it look like it's going to be a fascinating read.

on 2008-09-19 08:20 pm (UTC)The Fall est vraiment étonnant !
