EPIC Merlin post

rosengirlI waited, I waited and then, I waited some more. It was a long wait, until my dl finished in 10 minutes tops and I FINALLY saw it.
Even if the slash was misdirected this week, the episode in itself was absolutely brilliant !
Edwin was the most convincing vilain they had on the series so far and the first believable threat (not so hard to achieve when you have to compete against a corny witch and a bad!CGI griffin, BUT STILL.) and Julian Rhind-Tutt nailed the part with a great deal of charisma and class. There was also an interesting backstory and a *gasps* solid plot ! So even if I felt the lack of Arthur v. v. v. vividly, the rest was good enough to keep my interest. Also, I love Gaius and his bond with Merlin like pie.
Uther really acted like he cared a great deal about Morgana and it was the first time I almost found him cute <3 Same goes for the ridiculously slashy scenes of Great Friendship with Gaius.
So *of course* the very little amount of focus Arthur/Merlin was given in this one made me pay attention harder everytime they were on screen together.
The obvious pacing scene was priceless ! I loved their little anxious faces and it had Arthur say "Merlin" again in that sexy annoyed voice of his <3
I'm sure that they found a way to relieve their stress in the end. All alone in Arthur's room at night, now that didn't look suspicious *at all*, btw. \o/
"consider my manservant at your disposal" Oh Arthur, you pimp <3
Merlin : It can't explain love.
Edwin : So you are in love ?
Merlin : *AWKWARD TIEM* No *nervous laugh* .........I mean........Feelings..Emotions.
OH MERLIN DON'T BE EMBARASSED BY YOUR LOVE FOR ARTHUR. YOU CAN'T HELP IT.
And then, when Merlin entered Morgana's room with Edwin's equipment, Arthur (who was conveniently AND sexily leaning against the wall close to the door) looked at him IN A VERY GAY WAY.
Told you I was paying attention.
I enjoyed the whole Edwin's Great Seduction scene. I don't think he could have delivered "Imagine what we could achieve if we 'shared' our knowledge" in a more erotic way XD
(It heped that Julian Rhind-Tutt played Edwin in a very sensual and predatory way *___* Why yes, I'd hit that.)
It was interesting how Merlin looked tempted at some point. The prospect of Evil!Merlin is a ratherhot as hell endearing thought.

I'm quite interested to know why he doesn't seem to be a fan of Gaius.
"And you are more than a father to me" *does. not. see. the. slash. does. not.*
Oh Arthur, another one of your lovely chest-displaying shirts. I do have a preference for the pink red-ish one but I am not complaining. And while he couldn't help his boyfriend, he did look wistful about it.
*gratuitous chest hair*
That last Edwin/Uther scene was actually chilling.
I LOVED IT WHEN ARTHUR SEEMED TO HAVE RUN ALL AROUND THE CASTLE TO FIND MERLIN. And Merlin instantly dropping his things to go help him was so adorable <3
BWAHAHAHAHAHA the battleaxe thing was hilariously cracky.
How bad am I if I found that healing scene between Merlin and Uther weirdly hot ? Apart from the sweet irony of the situation.
Gaius : Maybe you are a genius.
Merlin *looking so sweetly moronic* : You think so ?
Gaius : Almost. One day.
Merlin *proceeding TO KILL ME WITH THE CUTEST DORKY SMILE EVAR*

NEXT WEEK : *MAKING UP FOR THE LACK OF ARTHUR* It looks like we're back to proper slashing and decent Arthur screentime <3
The fact that I'll be seeing this with my favourite bunch of fangirls makes me even more excited !

I laughed so hard at the sight of the dvd cover for the first vol. of the series (picturing Arthur and Merlin looking all SRS BZNS in the foreground with the Slash Dragon giving his blessing behind them) that I preordered it immediately *shallow and weak*
I'll do a post on every other teevee I watched that wasn't Merlin probably soon.

Même si tu t'y es mise tard c'est bien bien cool ! Tu verras la deuxième moitié de la saison s'améliore d'épisode en épisode (même si ça reste une série uber cute qui ne casse pas 3 pattes à un canard ^^)
