The announcement was was out of the blue yes, the decision wasn't. I'll have a hard time to see Ten go but I'm already dying to know who will be eleven *g*

If I hadn't hoped quite as much on him doing a season with Moffat it would've been less surprising. Oh well. I wonder how well the Beeb's going to keep Eleven under wraps. Dying to find out here.
