I watched Brideshead Revisited this afternoon, mostly to satisfy my growing Matthew Goode love (next on the line : The Lookout with bonus Joseph Gordon-Levitt ♥) and I rather liked it !
I am not familiar with the book or the series but it was a good film on its own right. I loved the way it was shot, Matthew was both drop dead gorgeous and magnificent as Charles and Ben Whishaw was also amazing. Charles and Sebastian's relationship was beautifully showed but I admit that my greedy self would have liked MOAR than one little kiss, even if it was really, really perfect. However, the heavy innuendos were absolutely *delightful*.
I really loved and was into most of the film but it ended when Charles visited Sebastian in Morocco for me, the last part felt completely tedious and dragged on forever. The very end with the candle was lovely, though.
Yesterday we went to see Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day and if it was to fuel my Lee Pace love at first, the film was also very lovely.
Lee Pace was adorable and made us die during the singing part and the rest of the cast was good as well. I particularly loved Amy Adams and Shirley Henderson's performances.
The film was just a joyful piece and we had a good time.
It was set roughly during the same period as Brideshead so I'm surprisingly coherent in my watching today.
OT : I just realised that if I am loving Ozymandias hardcore it may be because of all the things he has in common with my former hardcore love : SV's Lex Luthor. They're both Alexander the Great n°1 fan, utterly fabulous, clever (ok so one's the cleverest man who's ever clevered), LOVE PURPLE (LIKE, A LOT), incredibly rich and have the GREYEST moral code from GREYSVILLE.
And four days left til Watchmen btw *melts*
