rosengirl: (Misfits : matter of fact)
So [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy, [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss and myself came home yesterday after a bitchin' London weekend of win !

We saw the matinee performance of Design for Living on saturday and loved it. It started a bit slow but I really really got into it by the second half of act 2 (SERIOUSLY, the scene where Otto and Leo got drunk together ? I COULD HAVE WATCHED THREE HOURS OF THIS SCENE ALONE, I DIDN'T WANT IT TO END) and loved it to bits til the end. Andrew Scott's performance was incredible and hilarious. He was so... Flamboyant and cracky, bouncing everywhere and speaking in his fantastic high pitched voice of his. He was very impressive. Tom Burke, who played Otto was incredibly dashing and charmed the hell out of me. The interactions between the characters were full of quick-witted humor and the set design was absolutely gorgeous, we spent a really nice, entertaining afternoon. I'm even kinda bummed that it's a play and there's no fandom because I ship Leo/Otto so hard I want a fic fix now, damn them !

Trailer for the play with some unexpected!Cumberbitch in it :D

We spent the following evening/night wandering around Picadilly, Leceister Square and Regent Street to see the Christmass decorations. We stopped by a Starbucks to try the Eggnog Latte (an aquired taste but it was good) and we walked by the Odeon where they had the uk HP7 premiere a couple of days earlier. So all in all, a very nice day 1 !

On sunday, we spent the rainy morning shopping in Camden Town. OH CAMDEN, HOW I MISSED THEE. EVEN THE RAIN DIDN'T SPOIL YOUR AWESOMENESS. I found these which I wanted since I first saw them online and got them in like, the first shop I looked when I thought I wouldn't find them at all \o/

The day went by fast (we did our obligatory trip to Forbidden Planet) and then it was time for BENEDICT AND EDDIE. (Cathy and I were dying of squee on the tube to get there, it was epic).

I thought that the Children's Monologues would be quite hard to get through and maybe a bit too depressing but it really wasn't. The play was outstanding, the whole cast (who only did a rehearsal all together on the day of the performance) was very good and the variety of the stories picked, even if it was harrowing at times because some of those stories were still difficult to take in, made each of the performances from the actors interesting and riveting in very different ways.
I'm extremely biaised, I know, but Benedict's piece was my favorite ! It was both hilarious and quite moving. The way he acted against thin air and yet made me almost see the imaginary teenager who he was talking to was just brilliant. Eddie's bit about a boy excited for his birthday was extremely funny as well and he used the space on stage really well. Nathan (Misfits' Curtis) and the girl he was paired with did great too, Ben Kingsley's piece had me in tears and I loved the closing piece about the boy who loved oranges. Every single story was interesting one way or the other, we once again really enjoyed ourselves and had an amazing time.

video itw with Benedict, Ben Kingsley and Gemma Arterton about the play.

The stage door afterwards was surprisingly way less crowded than we thought it would be. The actors came out quickly and Eddie Redmayne had even appeared before we got there so we caught him on our way and he was such a sweetheart ! Cathy died of course but mostly inside, which was of the good. He was in a rush but took the time to personalize our autographs and took a pic with Cathy, he was very VERY handsome irl and was all NO WAI when we said we came from Paris to see the play.
Nathan had the extremely good idea (not for us tho) to come out at the same time as Benedict so we couldn't stop him while he made a quick exit, which was a bit of a shame. Benedict was expectedly super sweet and kind with everybody, he signed and took pictures with everyone who wanted to and gave me goosebumps everytime he spoke with his soft velvety voice in my general direction, or looked at me with his blue blue blue eyes of blueness. I really really dig the blond now, I think it suits his features and it contrasted nicely with his tight black leather jacket (which I couldn't help but stroke when we took our picture /perv).

So, yes, GREATNESS AGAIN on day 2.

Yesterday we just had a full english breakfast at the Cillantro and did a bit of shopping before taking the train back

I don't have the pics in my possession since I didn't take them and can't have access to them right now but maybe I'll get to post them eventually.

In other news, I saw Misfits' series 2 premiere and OMG STILL SO GORGEOUS AND EPIC. What a great start ! I loved that it was kinda Simon centric and I realized how much I missed Nathan's twatishness from hell ! GAAAHHHH LOVE THAT SHOW. Next week looks rad !

I caught up on the intrawebz and was greeted by :

1. an EPIC Van interview where he is a total dork (I also want to see your big face, bb).

2. Jake Silb will play Jonathan Harker in an off broadway production of Dracula.

3. Benedict will play the monster and his creator every other night in Frankenstein (WHICH I WILL TRY TO SEE AND COMBINE WITH THIS).

(I love the timing of 2 and 3)

4.

YEAH. This will totally end up on a wp, or icons or a new header or ALL OF IT.

5. TONYA <3 POSTED THE FIC I WON FOR THE LEMONADE PROJECT WHICH I WILL READ RIGHT NOW \o/

6. MR ALEX DAY DOING A COVER OF GRANGER DANGER. FTW.

7. Darren confirmed as a regular on Glee !
rosengirl: (Sherlock : H/W *twirls*)
In fact I've been back for a few days now but between my massive intrawebz cath up, an afternoon at the movies yesterday (Chatroom with the always excellent Aaron Johnson <3) and a very nice party at [livejournal.com profile] tya_rc's place last night, it didn't leave me much time to update sooner.

Ireland with [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss was AN EPIC OF AWESOME EPICNESS. The Connemara and the Cliffs of Moher (where they shot the entrance of the cave in HP6) were incredibly gorgeous and Dublin was a fun city to visit. She took loads of pics but I haven't got them yet and I suspect I'll be too lazy to do a picspam when I'll do.

Things I caught up with which makes me *HAPPYFACE* :

True Blood had gay vampire sex in it involving ERIC ! UUUUUUUUUUUUNNNFFF. I approved.

Sexy gif of male on male action behind the cut - WARNING : ERIC DOING A MAN IS TOO HOT FOR YOUR OWN SANITY. )

THANK YOU TRUE BLOOD, I DON'T WANT TO SOUND LIKE A GREEDY WHORE BUT THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN EVERY WEEK. IN FACT YOU CAN CONSIST OF 50 MINUTES OF ERIC DOING DUDES FROM NOW ON, YOU WOULD BECOME MY FAVORITEST. OF ALL TIME.

SHERLOCK. WAS. FUCKING. SPECTACULAR.

I was totally gripping the edge of my seat and blinking less and less as the episode went by. I need to rewatch it 251756715271247 more times OMG.

I saw that the fandom was divided about Moriarty and I must say that I really liked him. I didn't expect him to be like this at all and I loved that he was weirdly creepy and somewhat cute at the same time (oh and FLAMING LIKE A FLAME THAT FLAMES. "I will buuuurn your heaaaart !". OKAY DUDE)

SHERLOCK AND JOHN'S LOVE FOR EACH OTHER IS A THING OF EXTREME BEAUTY. I watched some scenes over and over again before being able to go through it all.

Cucumberbitch pwns my soul. If he doesn't show up in my Who as the Master I will break the world's face, I will.

Check out my new awesome mood theme btw <3

NOAH MAYER IS ON NEXT WEEK. NOAH MAYER IS ON NEXT WEEK. NOAH MAYER IS ON NEXT WEEK.

I will start my memes again tomorrow and I'll pretend that I don't have a ridiculous amount of days to do at once and resume where I left off. Easier that way.

For now, I'll do this little one given by [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy

Movie meme:

Comment with “SHOWTIME!” and I will give you ten actors and ten actresses. Then post in your Livejournal with your favorite films of theirs.

List behind the cut )

Oh and on a completely random note, I have weird ass Smallville cravings. I was going through old folders to find one of my old fics to send to [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss (long story but we made each other lol a lot with our respective fics of yore) and I ended up clicking on some old Clex vids and I was like "wow Smallville, you were so very gay, I forgot how fabulous you were !" And the nostalgia hit full force. It was my very first slash pairing after all.
But I don't have time to watch Clexy episodes anyway rhaaaa. I need to get up to speed with my QaF and TLW marathon because of the french convention we're going to in october.

BUT ANYWAY :

*draws hearts, double rainbows (omg) and unicorns all over it *

*puts it on her marathon watchlist*
rosengirl: (Actors : Colin Firth wet & drinking *GUH)
This post is totally pointless because I really CANNOT form coherent thoughts about it right now.

But one word comes to mind for about everything from the directing, acting, story, atmosphere, feelings, photography and so on :

PERFECTION.

[livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss and myself are biaised as massive Colin Firth fans but there's not one thing to nitpick about everything else. One of the best cinematic experience I've had in a long time.

And it *is* Colin's role of a lifetime. If he doesn't win the oscar for this, I will lose all faith in humanity for good.
rosengirl: (VL : Poussin und Mother Chick are <3)
So last week I went 4 times to the movies and wanted to post about it because I loved every single one of them but I have postponed this post for the last week or so because of my epic laziness.

Sherlock Holmes has finally been out over here for 2 weeks and now that I've seen it (twice last week, eh) I'd say that the hype surrounding it is well deserved. It was hot, fast paced and terribly endearing. Robert was completely Ace, not that it was unexpected and I was pleasantly surprised by Jude Law's Watson, especially since I'm usually not the biggest Law fan. They had wicked chemistry and worked really well together. I was also pleased by the supporting cast since I always love me some Mark Strong and Rachel McAdams.

I Love You, Phillip Morris really didn't disappoint. Both Carrey and McGregor played their part brilliantly and the story was in turn hilarious, sweet and yet incredibly sad. It was hard to believe that it was indeed a true story because some of the con Steven Russell pulled off were just completely unbelievable. I've read a very good interview with the real Russell and not only what is in the film is as close to the truth as it gets, but he really is a fascinating man. It breaks my heart a little to think that he is now in solitary 23 hours a day for the rest of his life. Couldn't they make him work for the FBI or something ? He's like a super Neal Caffrey ! I've ordered the book and can't wait to read it. I really loved their story.

Brothers was mainly worth it for the stunning acting performances of Tobey Maguire, Natalie Portman and Jake Gyllenhaal. The film felt so intimate to me that I had the impression that I was intruding sometimes. The trailer was also misleading and the story was not quite what I expected, which is a good thing since it turned out way more interesting and challenging than what I thought it would be. It also had quite a strong anti-army, anti-war message at its heart that I did not expect and found really well handled and moving.

I'm seing Valentine's Day tomorrow (and going to a Cobra Starship gig afterwards, eeehh). Shush. I love me some stupid romcom once in a while and it doesn't make me a girly girl that girls kthx.

In other news, I have started a That 70's Show marathon because I have acquired all 8 seasons, thanks to my dear [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss. I will watch it properly for the first time (meaning all of it, in order and not dubbed) since I never had the chance before. I've almost finished the first season already and OH THE NOSTALGIA IT BROUGHT. I was surprised by how well I remembered some of it.
The episode where Joseph Gordon-Levitt guests as Eric's new BFF-who-really-wants-to-get-in-his-pants was so cute ! He looked so very young and his voice hadn't finished to break yet. I remembered JGL was in it before I got my hands on the show and it certainly helped me to watch the first part of the season faster. So yes, I'm enjoying the hell out of it, especially the 70's pop culture references, the retardedness of Kelso and the eerieness of Fez <3

As for soapland, sorry for exploding all over your flist but FUCK NOES I HAVE STILL NOT RECOVERED FROM THE FACT THAT JAKE AND VAN WILL BE IN MY COUNTRY IN JULY. I spent the week making up slightly batshit scenarios with [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss because nobody really knows the extent of our batshit behind closed doors but I will just say that it's quite epic and I often mortify myself.

I've discovered that I have a real problem with soaps. I apparently can't stop getting into them since I've discovered that they have the Best Gays. I clearly need an intervention.
So after a failed first attempt, I stubbornly tried Verbotene Liebe again and WHADAYAKNOW I fell in love with Christian and Oliver.
I was caught up with it in 4 days which seems ridiculously fast but since the show is often ignoring them and only write actual stories for them only once in a while (they're just standing there, giving advice to other characters the rest of the time and it's really offensive !) it was easy peasy.
I have some issues with the actual pairing because they are absolutely adorkable, but sometimes it's just all there is to them. Their drama is always short lived (when there is drama, which is not often) and they're not struggling enough.
With Nuke and Deniz/Roman, the struggles and the soul-crushing pain they go through is what make the fluffytiems so fucking rewarding. It's backwards with Ollian because I don't get excited by the long periods of fluff, I'm just bouncing madly everytime ANGSTIEM rears its awesome head (or simply when it focuses on them after a long period of 'let's just hang around and give advice', eh).
But despite this, I've grown attached to them because they really make a cute pairing.

Case in point in fanvid format (by [livejournal.com profile] rhiannonhero)

I'm also ridiculously infatuated with Christian and have nicknamed him 'ptit poussin' (lil' chick) BECAUSE THAT'S JUST WHAT HE IS. He acts all tough and manly but really ? Schatz is a spectacular angsty woobie and his vulnerability makes me flail into oblivion.

Also I am shallow and I'D HIT THAT SO HARD I WOULD PASS OUT.

The actors are also awesomely dorky which of course helped. Watch them running around London like the fierce dorks they are.

The current storyline is very promising in the angst department though. Well I do know it will deliver since I've spoiled myself rotten ha ha ha. I can't wait !
rosengirl: (AWZ : thank you Male Function)
So I did want to update for several days about my beloved shows's (sometimes spectacular) comeback but I'm in a fierce procrastinating mood.

Mood definitely not helped by the fact in the last week or so, [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss and I have fallen for *yet* another gay pairing in a soap.

It's a german one called Alles Was Zählt (All That Matters) and just like ATWT their gay boys have issues and angst a lot. There's also figure skating involved which is clearly of the Win.

Here, have a gorgeous songvid which has about everything I love love love about these two.

If you want to get to know them better, my lovely [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss did a fantastic pimping post HERE.

I'm already almost caught up with their story and it's not even been two weeks, eh. Soaps are addictive.

I was also mostly pleased with the double dose of Nuke this week. You can never have too much Nuke (I hope we'll get them twice next week as well *fingers crossed*).
Mind you not all of it was satisfying but I dig their SL and we had Noah being incredibly sweet and adorable (with awesome hair *g*) on tuesday and a 51st kiss on friday, they couldn't manage to have it all both at the same time but hey, that's the limit of those writers for you.
Next week does look like we're back to the Epic Angst again and while I can't wait because I'm still not used to have to *wait* for nuke parts, I'm a bit anxious too. I think Dr Reid is presh so far and I'm curious to see where it goes with Luke (and hoping that Noah will finally stop taking Luke for granted anf get jealous a bit).

___________________________________________

As for proper telly, overall I'm also very satisfied with post hiatus episodes so far. In shortness :

Dollhouse is just jawdroppingly brilliant. Some episodes from the second half of the current season are some of the best work Whedon has ever done. That may be the most unfair and saddest cancellation ever. I am dead excited by the finale episode and hope that the ending will be satisfying enough to get over the bitterness.

Chuck season 3 is rocking my socks off ! I can't wait for some things to happen and some characters to return but all in all it's good fun with an underlying sense that all could and probably will go wrong very very fast. I love it.

Being Human series 2 is also doing it for me so far. I liked the premiere but 102 was just heatbreaking and awesome. I really like each character's storyline and the creepiness of the general series arc.

House is. Yeah. You know which scene. *grins stupidly at House and Wilson*

White Collar delivered perfectly ! I am still madly in love with Neal, Peter and Elizabeth but mostly, Neal rocked the episode with his mad skills of UNFNESS.

Legend of the Seeker, well. I kinda want to say Richard who (although his abs of steel & doe eyes would be missed) ? BECAUSE I AM BLINDED BY KAHLAN AND CARA'S FIERCENESS AND THEIR EPIC LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER.

EPIC CHICKS KICKING ASSES AND TAKING NAMES
(that was seriously one of the best fights they ever did in this show *g*)

Which reminds me that I'm off to watch last night's Seekah ♥
rosengirl: (ATWT : Tongue action !)
First of all, the trailer for the beginning of Luke and Noah'story is here.
The channel with all the parts : LukeVanFan
The very first part.

Now let me count the ways.

1. Van Hansis is THE SHIT. He can act his way through a soap opera and be awesome at it. Pretty much everyone else has killed me with unwanted lulz at some point but not him, oh no. I take Luke dead seriously and he's the only one to get me emo enough to tear up. In fact he is so talented and my love for Luke is so hardcore that I'm watching Luke's story pre Noah now. INORITE *facepalm* But now I can say that he owned the role from the start.

2. Luke Snyder's EPIC BITCHINESS. He is *such* a little bitch ! If Luke doesn't like you you better run for the hills because he's a vindictive little fucker. That's of course not all there is to him but that's my favourite side and I'm always squeeing my head off when it comes out.
In one of the latest storylines, Noah's professor tried to steal him from Luke and Luke basically lost his shit and destroyed his career (and his nose). IT WAS GLORIOUS. [livejournal.com profile] winterevanesce made an awesome fanvid of the Luke & Mason debacle : Luke Snyder vs Professor Beefcake : THE SMACKDOWN. It's a good exemple of Luke's bitchy side (Noah was not a happy bunny but I'm sure he'll come around).

3. Noah Mayer is THE BEST. BOYFRIEND. EVER. After Luke and Noah started to have sex, Noah inherited the Oakdale Brain (it's a soap, therefore the town has only one brain to spare) and kept it ever since. He is always super patient with Luke and prevents him from getting too much into trouble (because Luke is brash, stubborn, a bit of a spoiled brat and extremely impulsive. Did I say that I fucking loved him ?).

4. Jake Silbermann's voice. I don't know why but his voice is such a turn on. I also love his puppy blue eyes. He did the best audition tapes ever where he says extremely filthy stuff like "semen-swallowing soul-crushing demon slut" and I basically never recovered because his voice + filth = more than I could handle (makes it easier to imagine Noah's dirty talk during sex though)

Jakes filthy audition tapes from hell behind the cut )

5. Luke's current Magnificent Hair. I say current because Luke is always changing haircuts and hair color every 5 episodes. Right now it's a bit too long and so very GORGEOUS. I just want to reach out and run my hand through it. The storyline right now is maybe the most ridiculous after the Reg Murder Mystery of Fail (nothing can top that one) and ok, Jake is actually pretty good at portraying Noah's anger and frustration with his current condition. But what really makes me hold on ? The Wonders of Luke's Hair, definitely.

One more fangasmic Hair pic from the front behind the cut )

6. The Fashion Statement. Noah wears flannel shirts. Luke wears Every Kind of Stripes Ever. They wear flannel and stripes on screen both at the same time and yet I still haven't gone blind. I think they actually pull it off, even. How do they do it ? I have no fucking idea.

one ADORABLE exemple behind the cut )

7. Luke and Noah are the cutest pairing ever. I'll admit that I may love when they're fighting and angsting all over the place (their first big fight still being my all time favourite part) even more, but in the end, there's no better reward than have them happy and completely adorable with each other for a while. It's usually short lived but it makes those moments all the more precious.

♥Oh boys♥

8. Luke being all slutty and mean when drunk. It's SO HOT I CAN'T EVEN.

Drunk scene behind the cut )

9. Everytime they talk about or allude to sex. I know that it's daytime tv which means that we'll never have a sex scene QaF style thank god for the steamy fics but it's already nice that THEY FINALLY DID IT and that since then they talk about it or imply that they fuck like bunnies so often. It helps that Jake and Van have such an A-MA-ZING sexual chemistry, that it looks 100% genuine and natural on screen.

If looks could do more than look. They have enough sexual tension to set fire to the set. )

10. THE EPIC AFTERELTON ROCKBAND INTERVIEW. TOO MUCH FTW TO COMPUTE. It has the boys playing Rockband with Jake trying to look like a rockstar with his guitar when playing in easy mode and Jake but mostly Van butchering singing Bad Reputation (more adorable butchering at the end of the video). The following interview is PRICELESS because they are... Well if there is so many RPS fics in this fandom let's just say that it's completely their fault. Watch out for the body language and how they talk about "certain friendships". Oh my god.

15 minutes of pure visual Squee behind the cut )

We've hit the halfway mark.If you've made it so far then I'm impressed ! I could really go on and on but I did restrain myself (though I could totally come up with an identical post and 20 new reasons, easy peasy.).

10 more reasons behind the cut )

This will never ever happen again without me being there, KTHXBAI.

Conclusion : you never know when and where you will find your next major OTP and it might strike you when you least expect it.
For me, it only happened to this level three times before, with CLex, Brian/Justin and Doctor/Master. This is officially my fourth and I'm so happy to be in that state again.

I haven't had that much fun putting a post together in forever ♥

DUDE.

THIS WEEK'S TELLY IS KILLING ME. KILLING ME DEDEDED.

HOUSE *WILD HAND GESTURES* I MEAN HOUSE THIS WEEK OMFG. I CANNOT EXPRESS MY LOVE FOR THE EPISODE EXCEPT THAT GETTING MARRIED IS THE LAST THING I WOULD WANT BUT I WOULD SO DO IT JUST TO HAVE HOUSE THROW ME A BACHELOR PARTY, I MEAN ESPECIALLY... )

THE BIG BANG THEORY WAS MORE AVERAGE GOOD BUT I TOTALLY HAVE TO MENTION THIS )

AND FINALLY, THIS WEEK'S HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, SERIOUSLY, I MEAN SERIOUSLY DID I IMAGINE THAT EPISODE OR WHAT ?

BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST EPISODE EVER. I WAS OVERWHELMED BY THE SLASH, IT WAS SO VERY SLASHY AND 100% LEGENDARY.

Phfew.

That's a lot of capslock but it was necessary to get that of my chest. I may squeal some more with my weekly dose of Guv Luv in a moment.

As for SF Sunday with just a tiny bit more of details, [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss posted some delicious pics of James Callis and Jamie Bamber in her lj here.
She only saw them from the outside since she hadn't caught up with the show yet but I can tell you that the talk on stage with the three of them was made of 57 flavours of win. They were all completely sweet and had some great things to say about their fellow cast members (especially Edward James Olmos who really seemed like their surrogate father on and off set) and gave great insights on their respective characters on the show. Jamie surprised the hell out of us because he did the whole talk in french ! He apparently learned to read and write in Paris and he spoke almost flawlessly during the whole thing (yes, it was teh Hawt, Mary also thought so and said so XD).
James Callis'voice continues to melt my panties. His smooth posh brit accent is exactly the same than when he played Gaius and, OH BOY. Hilariously enough, it was melting my brother's panties too (he didn't phrase it like that, no, but I could tell that's what he meant) James was absolutely charming and funny in a complete debonaire fashion. Exactly how I'd imagined he would be except even more gorgeous *___*
They kept restraining themselves from talking about the finale because supposedly the room had not seen it (except that 99.9% of it had, the 0.1% being [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy) but Jamie had the sense at one point to say 'what the hell we've all seen it' because they were trying to talk about the most powerful moments they kept from the shooting and they all had to hint at their last scenes.
Finally they received a Jules Vernes Award each and we were shown the opening episode of season 4 on the gigantic screen of the Rex theater. Let's just say that I had stars in my eyes because the show translates beautifully on the big screen. The bro and I exchanged glances and melancholic whispers when certain characters appeared on screen. Gaius and his harem killed me with lulz all over again. It sure gave me the urge to watch the show all over again from the very beginning. I'll probably end up doing that this summer.

Then [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss, [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall, [livejournal.com profile] tya_rc and [livejournal.com profile] castalie joined us for the Star Trek french premiere and it also was ORSUM. Part of my brain was with the other half forced to stay at home because of a bad cold (that would be the lovely [livejournal.com profile] ephyse), but my heart was 100% PWNED by the film.

some ramblings about the film )

Films

rosengirl: (Matthew Goode : class you has it)
I watched Brideshead Revisited this afternoon, mostly to satisfy my growing Matthew Goode love (next on the line : The Lookout with bonus Joseph Gordon-Levitt ♥) and I rather liked it !
I am not familiar with the book or the series but it was a good film on its own right. I loved the way it was shot, Matthew was both drop dead gorgeous and magnificent as Charles and Ben Whishaw was also amazing. Charles and Sebastian's relationship was beautifully showed but I admit that my greedy self would have liked MOAR than one little kiss, even if it was really, really perfect. However, the heavy innuendos were absolutely *delightful*.
I really loved and was into most of the film but it ended when Charles visited Sebastian in Morocco for me, the last part felt completely tedious and dragged on forever. The very end with the candle was lovely, though.

Yesterday we went to see Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day and if it was to fuel my Lee Pace love at first, the film was also very lovely.
Lee Pace was adorable and made us die during the singing part and the rest of the cast was good as well. I particularly loved Amy Adams and Shirley Henderson's performances.
The film was just a joyful piece and we had a good time.

It was set roughly during the same period as Brideshead so I'm surprisingly coherent in my watching today.

OT : I just realised that if I am loving Ozymandias hardcore it may be because of all the things he has in common with my former hardcore love : SV's Lex Luthor. They're both Alexander the Great n°1 fan, utterly fabulous, clever (ok so one's the cleverest man who's ever clevered), LOVE PURPLE (LIKE, A LOT), incredibly rich and have the GREYEST moral code from GREYSVILLE.

And four days left til Watchmen btw *melts*

OH AND.

OMG LOOK WHO IT IS !! Supernatural 4x12 - Criss Angel is a Douchebag )
rosengirl: (PA : Danny doubts you)
YOU GUYS, MATT SMITH IS ABSO-FUCKINGLY-LY BRILLIANT AS DANNY FOSTER IN PARTY ANIMALS ! ♥

I'm up to 106 and I had to get that out of my chest ^^

So Party Animals is GREAT. It's more of a glorified soap set in a political context than a real drama about politics but the cast and the stories are really good and you can't stop watching it !
OF COURSE, it doesn't hurt that the series' real focus is about the lives of two brothers (Danny and Scott Foster) living together and being incredibly suspiciously close cute and domestic <33333

Danny is an idealistic, borderline naive but extremely clever researcher working for Labour Home Office Junior Minister Jo Porter. He is completely devoted to his work, socially challenged and very awkward. In other words he is ADORKABLE.
Scott is a lobbyist who works for a firm keen on making friends with the Tory party. He is a gorgeous prick but has sweet sweet moments of vulnerability. Still a prick, though. He cares deeply about his little brother.
When I say care, I mean glomping, hair ruffling, guilty crisis and occasional cry in each other's arms. Oh yes.

We follow two teams of young researchers, Danny and Kristy (Andrea Riseborough from Being Human and the Devil's Whore ♥) from the Labour HQ and Matt and Ashika who work for Shadow Minister James Northcote (Patrick Baladi aka Excelsior from No Heroics !). It's quite interesting to have a critical view on both sides.

Apart from Danny, the characters aren't nice and they all have personal agendas, which is perfect to depict people in politics.

I love pretty much all of them, even if I mainly watch to have Matt making me flail like mad. HE IS SO GOOD.
There's something definitely doctorish about him in the way he moves. He's quite... Fidgety. He has great charisma too and he proved me that he can easily be leading man material.
I can't unsee it now.

I am 600% convinced that he will do great things in DW and just, yes let it be 2010 already (sorry Dave !).

EDIT : if *that* doesn't finish to convince you to watch then, er, you are bloody weird !

brotherly love ) /end EDIT.

I did cap the hell out of it and made some textless icons, mostly for myself but I thought I'd share teh love :

rosengirl: (PGSM : original Sailor Senshi)
Teh bro, [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall and [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy are currently in London and went to see the Mighty Boosh last night at the Wembley Arena. My brother texted me a pic of the stage from their seats and I had a ridiculous squee moment on their behalf XD
I hope they enjoyed it as much as we did with eph. I even dreamt that we were with them at the stage door afterwards and that both Noel and Julian were there having their picture taken without annoying fangirls trying to grope them or screaming in their face, it was all very calm and not awkward, even for Julian. Wishful dreams : you has them.

I bought the DWM yesterday and Oh. My. God. I cannot tell you how RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED I am for the Doctor Who christmas special. I was reading the preview and the David Morrissey interview (that issue is full of incredibly hot pics of him, btw *____*) and I felt all tingly and joyful inside. I share my love between a lot of shows but nothing compares to this feeling I get when a new episode of Doctor Who is close to airing. It's indescribable but 100% awesome.

Light spoilers from the mag )

I AM SO EXCITED !

Telly I watched this week :

House was made of ultimate win !

House 2x11 Joy To The World )

The Buzzcocks finale PWNED. I didn't know who Josh Groban was before this and I AM INFATUATED NOW. He may sing terrifying stuff which may currently be growing on me but the guy is awesome beyond reason <3
Simon/Josh may be attractive but I'm really shipping him with his hand because JOSH GROBAN'S HAND/ JOSH GROBAN = OTP.
Also, Simon singing on Phil's shoulder : cuter than a basket full of kittens Y/Y ?
I enjoyed this series but they really, REALLY need to get Bill Bailey back.
I will also be sulking into next year because we never got to see the Russell Brand episode.

The IT Crowd 304 wasn't as funny as last week but I was still laughing like mad at some parts

INTERNET JOKES > YOUR USUAL JOKE )

Merlin finale tonight ! Probably thanks to my obsessive mind focused elsewhere, I remain 100% spoiler free. I have my suspicions because I saw people freak out but I can't wait finding out in the actual episode since it rarely happens that way for me anymore. I hope it will meet my expectations ! (not that I'm worrying since Merlin rarely disappoints).

Guitar Hero Worldtour is DANGEROUSLY ADDICTING. Playing drums or badly singing on Eyes of the Tiger made my entire week.

You're probably wondering WTF I'm using this icon for by now so it's time to come clean.

This past week, thanks to a random post about the live action series, I fell back in an unexpected Sailor Moon kick. I never saw the end of the live action series so it was the opportunity. Except that I started from the beginning because I couldn't remember where I stopped. OH THE GLORIOUS CRACK. MY HEART, IT CAVED.
Eventually I saw some episode of the anime on youtube and thought that it would be kind of time, ten years after the end, to get my hands on the 200 episodes and 3 films and watch everything properly, uncensored and in japanese. Not that I have a gazilion things to watch already, noooo.
It's not my fault really, Sailor Moon is basically made of complete win. The live action series is addicting and the anime, from the few episodes I rewatched aged surprisingly well.

I should mention that I often said that the first show I had a real fannish obsession about was Buffy, which is not entirely true. Sailor Moon was the very first real fannish affair I had during my preteen years. Because I wasn't only watching the censored, badly dubbed version on the Club Dorothée obsessively, I was also making scrapbooks and collecting every items I could find on my beloved anime.

Rediscovering it today in all its glory feels very special. I read on a website that french censorship on the anime wasn't, in fact, about violence but principally concerned the established gay relationships and gay characters. Either they changed dialogues to make it look like a 'deep frienship' or they cut whole scenes altogether. Heaven forbid children to be exposed to the existence of homosexuallity, right ? Needless to say that I was shocked and appalled.

So that's my current quest, watching all things Sailor Moon, good and proper.
Surprising nostalgic rush of burried love is surprising.

Sailor senshi, sore wa muunraito riaru gaaru

EDIT : *laughs hysterically at her mood theme*
rosengirl: (SDOACG : Belle)
SDOACG was made of awesome ! I had forgotten how much I loved Belle/Hannah.
Billie Piper was definitely born to play that role, she's so funny and touching as Belle. And of course hot like burning, which doesn't hurt :p

minor spoilers for 201 & 202 )

Since I caved in because of the Fnac sale on TV Shows and bought the last 3 seasons of Alias yesterday, I kinda started to rewatch everything from the beginning and O.M.G ALIAS!!!!11!!1 FORGOT ALL ABOUT YOUR GREATNESS, SHOW.

SYDNEY BRISTOW I CRUSH ON YOU V. HARD. She still gives me an adrenaline rush every time she's kicking ass and taking names. Which happens A LOT.

The Spy!Daddy/Spy!Daughter relationship ! Definitely the greatest Father/Daughter relationship before Veronica and Keith Mars graced US TV.

WILL TIPPIN AND HIS CUTE HAIR.

THE ADORKABLE MARSHALL FLINKMAN.

THE EPIC WIN OF ERIC WEISS. As much as I love him on Heroes, Greg Grunberg will forever be Weiss for me <3

But most of all : SYDNEY AND HER INFINITY OF SEXY OUTFITS. UNF !

And as far as crushing on girls go, Lisa Edelstein also made me question my sexuality drool today. But the House boys weren't doing too bad either.

I forgot to add something about Get Smart : This film has random!Bill Murray in a tree and extremely gratuitous boykissing. It can't get better than that.
rosengirl: (DW : Donna. Unique and Forever Fantastic)
AAAAAAAAAAARGHHHH !!

I had 6 minutes left of The X Files to watch to finish TEH EPIC MARATHON which I started 6 months ago and I seem to have lost the dvd in between upstairs and backstairs *pulls hair*

Apart from that, I must write about the highlight of my day for posterity :

At lunch break today, two gorgeous young men snogged the hell out of each other right in front of me ZOMGZ. [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall knows this because she was on the phone (and she heard me shriek XD). They snogged for about 3 minutes and a guy passing by almost stopped to stare.
I think he needed to rethink some basic principles (at least I prefer to interpret it that way :/).
It was the most glorious 3 minutes of my month week.

Secondly, [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy ROCKS LIKE A ROCKING THING because she got us cheap tickets at the last minute for Catherine Tate's play on saturday night.
WEEKEND OF AMAZING WIN !

I thought my subscription for DWM had ended last month but I just recieved the new issue (with the cover I wanted to buy THANKFULLY, twas the Donna one) and I don't know what it says about my mental state if I had tears in my eyes and a lump down my throat when I got to open the two pages on Donna. I IZ BROKEN.

That's it, I'm off to search for that damn dvd again because I sure as hell won't go to bed until I have finished XF FOR GOOD.

EDIT : FOUND IT. I IS TEH STUPID BECAUSE IT WAS ALREADY IN THE DVD PLAYER *loses at life*

Off to see Mulder and Scully cuddling in bed for the last time until next week. *squee*
