Well I'm only doing this post to support Stephanie McMoffie because in 2 hours she already has had more H8 thrown at her face than both Matha and Rose together in years.

And I'm going to be laughing hard if she turns out to be a lesbian.

If you want an older female and/or male for companion then look no further than Ten's last specials, he has it all.


Hawt Stephanie McMoffie is Hawt.

She won't be the last pretty young thing and she *certainly* wasn't the first. Deal with it.

haha yeah the fact that she's Scottish is a good point ^^ Does she have an accent? But... it's nothing personnal. It's not against the actress (because, indeed, she is georgous in the last pictures you posted!) it's against the fact that we've had enough cute, young little girls. We're disappointed because we thought it was time for a change and we get a red-haired Rose (of course we're only talking looks here because we've not seen her in action).

Anyway, just like fairy_bliss' said, I'm not gonna talk about it on communities otherwise we're all gonna end up on fandom_wank very quickly ^^

I get that you could be disappointed about the young pretty thing bit, but really... Susan, Dodo, Polly, Victoria, Zoe, Liz, Jo, Sarah Jane, Leela, Romana, Nyssa, Tegan, Peri, Ace, Rose, Martha. Eh, I won't say that pretty young things are a trend but the history of the show isn't helping.

But you have every right to be disappointed tho ! I'll start praising or bitching about her when I'll be watching 501 and see what she's about ^^

Oh and I'm not seing the ressemblance with Rose at all, I don't know where that come from.

That's just because it's a twenty-something actress who plays the part of a character who looks much youger, in her teenage years.

Yep pretty young things clearly are a trend in the show and I don't really know why I counted on Moffat to change it :/

Then again I'm all for some change (and I think there will be changes with the Moffat era), but lots of those pretty young things were also amazing characters in their own right so I don't really see the problem if they're yummy as well ;)

We might not know all the plans and maybe she won't be straight the only companion on board or like, die after 3 episodes ! lol

As I said I know we only have a single picture to judge from but she looks really young on it. At least the clothes they chose make her look young.

I'm only talking new Who here: there have been 3 companions (yes we could count Mickey and Jack but they come and go. Let's just talk about the "real" companions), 2 were young women and those 2 in particular were in love with the Doctor.
Of course we're just speculating, maybe Moffat will change this but his record on the subject is not good and seeing this promo pic made me feel like we were back to square one.

Yes, that would be great if she turned out to be a lesbian but what are the odds of that happening?
Then again, I really hope Moffat will surprise us all by being bolder than RTD but one of my fears has already been confirmed (the fact that's she's a girl and she's young) so obviously it made me pessimistic about the rest :/

See, the clothes are reassuring to me because I really like the slightly boyish look. Then again the promo pic could throw us of the scent and she could be a red haired alien lesbian ! XD

Love her. Love the hair, love the look, love the fact she's SCOTTISH and hopefully we'll have a companion who is NOT from London. (I got increasingly annoyed with the London focus over the past few years. If you can have Torchwood in Cardiff, you can have the Doctor land in the Welsh Marches, or Birmingham, or the West Country... I don't know why the team were so scared about leaving London. Even with the Christmas special, most of which was filmed in Gloucester, they still insisted on calling it 'London', when it blatantly wasn't.)

The promo pic makes SO MUCH SENSE now. I knew I'd seen her somewhere, and the fact that she was posing like you would for a jeans ad just seemed odd. If she's a model/been modeling then no wonder!
