Look at Ten's little expressive face in my icon !!1!!11!ELEVENTY!!1
I just rewatched The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit and I really love them. Series 2 is pretty weak compared to 1 and 3 for me but there's still some very good episodes in it (Girl In The Fireplace <3).
I adore how DT acted his wee heart out against nothing in the scene with the beast.
I must also say that I love Rose in this one because she's adorable with the Doctor and actually very useful. Rewatching series 2, her smugness annoyed me most of the time (Tooth and Claw, School reunion, the cybermen episodes and the Idiot's Lantern) but in these two she's just great like she was in series 1.
Now we'll have to speed up this Nu Who marathon a bit or we'll never have finished for the start of series 4.

angeliksmall,
jedicathy,
daiyaa and
ephyse yesterday and it's been ages for the last two so it was ORSUM to see them and be able to squee live with them about Torchwood and team Barratt/Fielding (they're going to see them live a month before us *shakes fist*).
(And just a second ago I had to stop writing because
ephyse phoned me to squee her head off over Julian Barratt's unbearable hotness as Dan Ashcroft in Nathan Barley. GAH ILU HON *clings*)
We saw Run Fatboy Run and it was, as expected, loltastic ! Simon Pegg made a brilliant loser and Dylan Moran still is filthy bastardous love <3
We were both dying of teh laugh and squeeing at the slash. And I loved the David Walliams and Stephen Merchant cameos which were for the win.
I also watched Ashes to Ashes 105 last night and it was terribly funny, for the most part anyway.
Russell Tovey is seriously killing me with teh cute. He's such a woobie. I guess a kitten turned human would look pretty much like that.
Stephen Campbell Moore wasn't in this one but Tovey filled the void. I vote for Dakin or Posner of the History Boys to show up next XD
The gay club part with Chris and Ray was priceless and Alex was also hilarious rolling her eyes at the rampant homophobia of the team.
AND OF COURSE Alex/Shaz innuendos are always welcomed ^^
I really thought that Marcus would not survive the episode so I was pleased that he shot the BF.
BUT the last scene between him and Alex left me unconfortable because it was gratuitous and unecessary. I wouldn't have minded them bringing AIDS into the story but just throwing this at the end as if it was an afterthought ? How the hell did they think that would be a good idea ??

on 2008-03-09 06:25 pm (UTC)Shit! I didn't spot David Walliams! Who was he playing?
And Dylan Moran is incredibly funny too (and he's go a great arse!)

And I'm dying to rewatch the awesomeness that is Martha Jones and the big epic Tiemcock gay love now <3

on 2008-03-10 06:15 pm (UTC)Oh, I love that scene. It makes me appreciate David even more. XD
Thanks for reminding me about the good points of Rose! In this episode, I ended up consumed by her tantrum over leaving, even though that's what the Doctor would've wanted and she should be able to trust him to take care of himself. But she also did a surprising lot of good in it aside, which was really reminiscent of her good days.

on 2008-03-10 09:27 pm (UTC)Fandom partly ruined Rose for me but I'm still able to appreciate the moments where she showed empathy in the series.
I think it's definitely one of her strongest and most positive traits of character. It's a shame that she kinda lost it in series 2 and that we didn't see it as much.
The tantrum was kind of annoying but she also really did help the team in the end and I personally loved seeing her reluctant to abandon the doctor to his fate, even if yes, it was stupid since she couldn't do anything about it. But I like the fact that it was the thought of the Doctor ending alone that she couldn't bear.

(A chaque fois ton icone me fait me rendre compte de mon manque d'UB *sigh*)
