OH BRADLEY, YOU PRECIOUS ADORKABLE GORGEOUS YOU.
Yes so I caught up with what I could found of Something For The Weekend with Bradley and Colin and they killed me with adorableness <333333333333
This weekend was delightfully Merlin themed and spent with my two lovelies,
tya_rc and
ephyse
Saturday was our epic trip to Castle Anachronism in Pierrefonds and it really is quite a bit magnificent ! I'll link to Tya's fine picspam because I'm lazy and she got the principal filming locations from the series covered. She should apparently be praised because she managed to do it with our scrutinity on her shoulders... Or something.
I put the rest of my pics and some of eph's in this gallery.
We had some troubles going there and back but they were seriously worth the effort.
We decided to accept Tya's invitation to stay at her place for the night to extend the Merlin squee with a group watching of 108 and it was, as expected made of complete win.
I don't have much to say about episode 8 mainly because I need to rewatch it to forge a definite opinion. I did like it even if it lacked some of the main things I watch the series for : Merlin/Arthur interactions and well, Arthur (Arthur'screentime this week was SO not enough, judging by me yelling 'YAH WELL GOOD BUT CAN IT BE ARTHUR TIEM NOW ?' at some point and my two fellow fangirls agreeing vigorously with that statement).
Then again I loved the darker tone and the story. It was also a great episode for the character of Morgana and I'm happy that she's getting increasingly more interesting.
Oh and I am totally shipping a new pairing now.
UTHER/MORGANA IS THE NEW BLACK.
That diner scene where he menacingly leans over her was insanely hot. Truly incredible chemistry, RIGHT THERE. Although we agreed that Morgana pretty much has chemistry with everyone, but nowhere nearly as hot as the interactions she had with Uther in that episode. GUH.
The 'Merlin stealing Arthur's key with magic' scene was amusing but went too far. I'm all for Arthur looking dim but let's not make him look full on retarded, shall we ?
Merlin's dilemna about the necessity of Mordred's sacrifice was fascinating and the scene where he was about to let Arthur and Mordred get caught was truly horrible. It was by far my favourite scene of the episode.
The clip of 109 shown during Something For The Weekend looks very promising and slashy. I'm sure it will make up for the cravings that were not meet by this week's episode.
I also converted the girls to Ashes to Ashes, from which we watched 2 episodes. It was unexpected and pleased me quite a lot, I must say. We finished the night by watching bits from old Merlin episodes and falling asleep with the telly still on, the three of us squeezed in a double bed. It was quite lulzy XD
Tya also acquainted us with the wonders of Annabelle the Sheep (I laughed til I cried) and we also read a fic together the next morning, with much giggling.
(Thank you again sweetie, for welcoming us to your lair <3)
All in all, it was a fine weekend indeed and I'm already looking forward to the next which will see me and eph going to england to see The Mighty Boosh live show in Brighton. HEEEEEEEE TEAM MB HERE WE COME.

on 2008-11-10 03:44 pm (UTC)I'm v. v. v. keen on Uther/Morgana too, as you know. And when you think about it rationally, how could we not? They are the only two characters on the show that are intense AND ambiguous AND magnificent at the same time. omg. BABY MAKING TIEM NAO PLZ KTHKSBAY.
Agreed on the 'let's not make Arthur retarded beyond salvation' point, there's no discussing it. There's comic timing, and then there's making a regal character look like a total buffoon - let's not confuse the two.
And the scene where Arthur was beginning to think that Merlin had betrayed me made me ache. Even if it would have saved Arthur years later, it would have broken him here and now. Oh, my boys <3
She should apparently be praised because she managed to do it with our scrutinity on her shoulders... Or something.
LET ME CLARIFY THAT - I can't write anything with people over my shoulders because I usually change the words several times until they sound right to me, and when there's scrutiny involved I feel like they have to sound right at the first try, AND THAT'S PRESSURE FOR ME ALRIGHT. *pets her awkward OCD self*
Gah, I loved our weekend. Like, seriously EFFING loved it! Great fannish moments, great silly moments, great cuddling, it was all quite awesome :D
THO I CAN BELIEVE ANNABELLE HASN'T HER OWN TAG, DUDE.

on 2008-11-11 09:59 am (UTC)Of course we agree on the rest since we already talked it through at your place :D
*pets your awkward OCD self*
I LOVED IT TOO !! And you are right in thinking that spontaneity can be bloody awesome sometimes because it was basically this all weekend and it really was different. Good different ;)
ANNABELLE MUST INVADE MY COMP FIRST BUT I UNDERSTAND YOUR INDIGNATION SINCE SHE IS WIN PERSONIFIED. (LOVE your new default icon btw, makes me smile everytime I see it <3)

on 2008-11-10 04:42 pm (UTC)You will tell me if it's normal to be HUGELY TURNED ON by Bradley dipping his hands into various ingredients.

on 2008-11-10 06:10 pm (UTC)(and who, incidentally, has also three other celebrity websites about three other dudes... NOT THAT I'M JUDGMENTAL, YOU UNDERSTAND.)
no subject
on 2008-11-10 06:40 pm (UTC)No, what turns me into a judgmental biatch is that she seems to be doing websites completely at random - for example, one of them because she saw a trailer and thought the dude looked good -, that her five websites are all exactly the same (with the same introduction, word for word), though she did buy the layouts from different folks... and, yes, she bought the layouts.
I just tend to feel sad when the people managing talent websites do something so generic and un-personal. I know I'm anal about the stupidest things but really, Random Celebrity Website Making is just cold and sad. It's like the actors don't really count as persons and don't deserve something hearted - they are just famous meat. Or something.
... RIGHT, BACK AT NOT GOING META-ISH ABOUT SILLY MATTERS. *FACEPALM*

on 2008-11-10 08:02 pm (UTC)She definitely deserves credit for managing five websites at the same time. Though, on the other hand, managing a generic website about a debuting actor isn't that much time consuming, I assure you, particularly if you don't design it yourself and just copy & paste all the technical stuff. Gathering and posting news really isn't as hard as it sounds once you have gotten hold of solid and regular sources.
(If you still haven't found the whole of SftW, I have a 700Mo file I can upload for you, just let me know.)

*goes rewatch that part*
EDIT : I SHOULD HAVE READ THE THREAD IN ORDER, SORRY.

on 2008-11-10 07:08 pm (UTC)Didn't you manage to find SftW???
I found it yesterday night and dl-ed it overnight and I watched it this morning and argh!!!!
But honestly, it's not worth the time to dl.
C and B only make very short appearances from time to time, so maybe you should only find the clips of them being actually there!

on 2008-11-11 10:12 am (UTC)What do you think about the clip from 109 btw ? Are we going to make our squee heard to all the other people present at the hotel ? I think it has potential but if this was the only M/A scene from the episode then I'll eat my pink hat XD

on 2008-11-10 08:02 pm (UTC)Sorry to burst in but I can only agree. Colin is like a submissive puppy. I wish he were more on screen because he was looking freaking gorgeous but Bradley was very easy on the eyes.
Colin sneaking in beside Alesha was priceless like "hu hullo, what are you all doing, can I join?"
He IS adorable and seems so shy (or submissive, it's up to you :))

on 2008-11-11 10:19 am (UTC)Colin and Bradley both killed me with adorableness. They seem a bit oblivious to the showbusiness shenanigans so far and it's very sweet.

on 2008-11-11 04:25 pm (UTC)I know... don't we wish they could stay innocent of their own hotness and all those rabid fangirls? (Although that's a pointless wish, since someone asked if Arthur and Merlin were in love at the London Expo. I mean WHAT?!)
no subject
on 2008-11-10 07:23 pm (UTC)Morgana was so cute and strong and intelligent and... ♥ morgana ♥ ♥
and I love the fact that merlin think that Arthur's life is much more important than the life of a kid XD
no subject
on 2008-11-11 10:22 am (UTC)It also still feels weird when that series goes all serious business on us, since the concept is so cracky.
But yes, Morgana is definitely FTW (and I really need an icon) and upon second watching I did appreciate it with more objecivity.

on 2008-11-10 10:39 pm (UTC)Et le mec blond de Merlin est vraiment beau! Sur ton icon il a un air de Mads Mikkelsen XD
no subject
