I can't believe I've actually opened semagic to write it lol.

So I won't go into too many details but let's just say that we were lucky and on a roll !

On friday, we saw Tim Minchin's Ready For This and what can I say besides that it was of the Winest WIN. I loved the new songs, I obviously flailed at his Derren Brown mention ('I'm not fucking Derren Brown !' <33333) and I will never EVER forget his shiny leggings *shallow*

[livejournal.com profile] ephyse and I in the Hammersmith Apollo, dead happy waiting for the show to start (I'm posting this one because if I don't Eph' will be 'Sir not appearing in this post')

We waited at the stage door afterwards, of course and were surprised as hell by an unexpected Jonathan Ross coming out ! He was extremely lovely and only left when everyone got pictures or autographs, despite the fact that his wife was waiting for him.

me, Wossy and [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss posing in the most natural way XD

Tim was indeed a guest in last week's Wossy Show and I've had Five poofs and Two pianos in my head all week. I can't wait to see his new Buzzcocks episode ! (which was apparently not this week grrr)

Tim came out after a little while and I can say that this was, without a doubt, the best fannish encounter I've ever had ! He was made of genuine sweetness and kindness and chatted with us a bit. We discussed the french expression "esprit d'escalier" (staircase wit) which he uses in his show. It's apparently still in use in the UK but long gone from the french language ! We never even had heard of it before this.

We always use our frenchness as a trick to get the attention of artists we came to see and it never ever fails because you must know that Minchin, Barrowman, Simm and the likes (yes, even David Tennant) are all completely unknown in our country of losers, I mean apart from the french people on lj (which is not that many). So they probably don't get french girls at the stage door too often and are always taken aback. Tim even asked us what we were doing here and what were our plans for the weekend (HE WAS SO NICE !). He then embraced us tightly (♥) for pic posing purpose and called us back when we left the crowd to wish us a good weekend and to remind Eph' to mail him about the french expression. You cannot get more sweet with your fan than this, really *g*

Tim and his stunning blue eyes and me pulling a funny face, like I always do in those situations because I am too busy dying inside *facepalm*

I must pause here to say that David Tennant eluded us all weekend because he went to see Tim Minchin on sunday and we walked by the London Film Festival's red carpet (and stopped to ask who would be there) on saturday night... Which he walked for the Glorious 39 premiere like, 3 days later. WHY COULDN'T OUR SCHEDULES MATCH DAVE, WHY.

Saturday was the Johns day. We went to see the matinee performance of La Cage aux Folles with John Barrowman and while it was the show I was less excited about because I'm not *that* into John B., it turned out to be probably the best we saw of the weekend ! The show in itself was truly spectacular, it was witty, colourful, funny and so very pretty. Barrowman had an *incredible* stage presence and by incredible I mean that he made me fucking cry performing 'I am What I Am' alone on stage, I couldn't quite believe it. He played Albin/Zaza with great gusto and the rest of the cast was fantastic as well. The Cagelles were the most bendy men I've had ever seen *g*
We went to the stage door afterwards and lots of people were waiting so it was more unpersonal but he took the time to sign everyone's program despite the fact that he had to save his energy for the evening performance (I really don't know how they do it) so it was very nice of him.
I'm quite gutted that I won't be able to see this again now :/

Then after running in circles in Leicester Square to find the Duke of York Theater, we went to see John Simm in Speaking in Tongues. Now, this was what I was waiting for the most because, well, I'm a die hard Simm fan and also because he blew me away in Elling two years ago. So I cannot even begin to describe the disappointment that was this play. Don't get me wrong, seing John work his dead impressive acting muscles right in front of you is still extraordinary and the rest of the cast was excellent. The stage direction was absolutely brilliant and the scenes where they talked in synch or repeated the same lines were fascinating (and reminiscent of Midnight) but the story left me nonplussed and the characters weren't engaging at all. The ending was rushed and fell flat because no one in the room knew if they should clap or not for about 30 seconds before the lights went on again and the actors came back on stage to salute, it was so weird !

We (wait for it) waited at the stage door afterwards and were about 15 people this time. We got our program signed by Ian Hart and Lucy Cohu and the second female lead turned out to be a complete bitch because we said hello to her and she looked at us (we were 15 and only 4 or 5 people looked interested to approach her) and said that she forgot something before getting back inside. Except that 2 minutes later a girl from the staff came out to tell us that all of the actors went home and that it was no use to wait. Bitch took the other entrance because 5 people were kind enough to show her interest and congratulate her performance. WOW.

So everyone left and we already had our programs back in our bags and ready to go ourselves (we talked earlier that we *had* to stop waiting for actors when a staff member told us to go home because they never lied since we always waited for nothing) and just waiting for Eph' to finish smoking her fag. Honest.

Honest.

We were alone on the sidewalk chatting when who should pop out all alone 3 meters from us with his manbag on his shoulder not even 10 minutes after the staff lady told us her LYING LIE ? Why JUST JOHN MOTHERFRAKKIN SIMM OF COURSE.

[livejournal.com profile] ephyse was bold enough to get his attention and he turned to us with that 'OH SHIT FANGIRLS' expression which I was absolutely expecting, BUT OMG WE WERE ALONE WITH JOHN SIMM ON A SIDEWALK.
She asked him if she could take a picture with him and he was so awkward (as were we) that I was sure he would say no. He said yes and she repeatedly asked him if he really didn't mind because the poor baby looked terrified (we felt so guilty OMG), he said it wasn't a problem but that we had to hurry because he was waiting for someone DAVE to pick him up. He was trying to reach this someone DAVE on his mobile but it wasn't answering. [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss and I didn't even dare ask him for a pic because he really made us feel guilty.
I did underestimate [livejournal.com profile] ephyse's cheek though because then she quickly got her program and pen out and asked him if he could sign it. Then [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss followed her lead and I followed hers. Except that John gave Eph's pen back to her and was ready to leave without signing ours so she took the pen and pointed it at our programs, I don't think he even registered that we had ours open for him to sign.
We kept apologizing profusely and I think he started to be a bit more at ease because of it since he realized that we weren't rabid fangirls who would molest him, or something. Either way he must have felt guilty too because he heard our accents and must have realised the effort we made by coming to see the play because when he left, he turned back to us and asked us what we thought of the play with a slight smile. We totally lied to him of course, but it was *so very* sweet of him because nobody was stopping him from fleeing the scene at that moment.
We watched him leave for a bit and being in woe because the person DAVE still didn't seem to answer his mobile.
I guess David did get spanked that night for leaving John alone long enough to get cornered by foreign fangirls.

[livejournal.com profile] ephyse posted her lovely pic with John Simm in her excellent report post over here.

I'm going back to the UK this weekend (Nottingham) to see SIMON AMSTELL !! I AM SO EXCITED I CAN BARELY CONTROL MY SQUEE. Oh. My. God. It better be fucking epic !

In other news I had my fastest addiction to a new show + fandom ever with the pilot episode of White Collar *points to icon*

It's sassy, shiny, classy and UBER SLASHY.

I'm already dying of the wait for 102 and have read pretty much every slash fics produced in the (already impressively active) fandom.

Oh and also today's SJA Killed. Me. OF AWESOME !! (re : the next tweet batch).
