So I once again hopped back to England (Nottingham this time) with my fellow

ephyse this weekend to see Simon Amstell's stand-up show, Do Nothing.

Let's just say that it was completely worth the effort because it was probably one of the funniest stand-up shows I've seen and it totally lived up to my humongous expectations.

We didn't quite know what to expect since we've only seen him on Buzzcocks and not much leaked about his tour. I suspected snark and edginess and we got both of course, and I knew that he talked about his love life but I never would have imagined that the whole stand-up would be this personal. From a guy usually so private, he was quite upfront about his insecurities and his awkwardness. It made the whole thing feel more special in a way, like overhearing something we weren't supposed to.

In short, it was FOR THE WIN.
I'm a bit sad that with this little trip ended my last planned trip to the UK. I hate not knowing when I'll be able to go back.

I have tons of tv shows to review and I especially need to share my glee about White Collar's latest episode (and the show in general because it rocks my universe) but I'll keep this for the next post.

I just have to finish with some pimpage :

The Waters of Mars new trailer ! I CANNOT WAIT. It looks so dark and gloomy and I wasn't that excited about it before (compared to the regen specials) but the bits and pieces I read about it really got me excited now. D-11 !

In other news I'm gutted that David Tennant landed an american pilot (selfish and irational, I know) and I wish english people would stop fleeing the coutry (Russell Brand I shake my fist at you).

I'm however fucking overjoyed that he will be hosting this year's Buzzcocks Xmas special and that Catherine Tate and Bernard Cribbins will be guesting OMG ! My brain will probably explode if David and Noel get snarky with each other and I may never recover.

I'm also reminded that christmas now means : David Tennant in Buzzcocks, David Tennant in QI, David Tennant in Hamlet and David Tennant in Doctor Who.

In other news I had my fastest addiction to a new show + fandom ever with the pilot episode of White Collar *points to icon*

It's sassy, shiny, classy and UBER SLASHY.

I'm already dying of the wait for 102 and have read pretty much every slash fics produced in the (already impressively active) fandom.

Oh and also today's SJA Killed. Me. OF AWESOME !! (re : the next tweet batch).

I don't really have time to do proper entries these days thanks to my big end of the year Project Report of Doom and my finals so I probably won't be able to post more than the occasonial tweet batch for the next two weeks. In other news I'm currently rewatching Queer as Folk UK out of the blue and am reminded how fucking brilliant it is.
I love that show for completely different reasons than QaF US because Stuart and Nathan are true unredeemable Epic Arsehole and Twat and should be unlikeable if it wasn't for their fierce loltasticness. They're also obvioulsy not Soulmates Destined to Be Forever Together like Brian and Justin were ~~AND STILL ARE KTHX~~ but they are more subtle, well rounded and realistic characters in a lot of ways.
Of course the true love story here is between Stuart and one adorable Doctor Who Fanboy Vince Tyler so it's not like it's even comparable. I adore their story too, their chemistry and the whole UST thing that Rusty kept intact til the end.
And I love Vince and his awkward adorkable fanboy ways to tiny bits. I really like Cameron as well while I hate David's guts in the US version. I'm very excited to see him in ~~Wars of the Master~~ the Waters of Mars later this year. They should totally ask him to name all the Doctors again in the Confidential XD

I'm mostly LMAO because I didn't remember that the series had so many Old Who references and I'm quite amused because I'm getting them all now.

OH AND BTW PAUL MCGANN TOTALLY COUNTS, YOU TWATS.

Eventually this rewatching should lead me to a QaF US Marathon of Doom this summer. It's about time I think. I would be glad to discover my BJ love all over again.

jedicathy are currently in London and went to see the Mighty Boosh last night at the Wembley Arena. My brother texted me a pic of the stage from their seats and I had a ridiculous squee moment on their behalf XD
I hope they enjoyed it as much as we did with eph. I even dreamt that we were with them at the stage door afterwards and that both Noel and Julian were there having their picture taken without annoying fangirls trying to grope them or screaming in their face, it was all very calm and not awkward, even for Julian. Wishful dreams : you has them.

I bought the DWM yesterday and Oh. My. God. I cannot tell you how RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED I am for the Doctor Who christmas special. I was reading the preview and the David Morrissey interview (that issue is full of incredibly hot pics of him, btw *____*) and I felt all tingly and joyful inside. I share my love between a lot of shows but nothing compares to this feeling I get when a new episode of Doctor Who is close to airing. It's indescribable but 100% awesome.

The Buzzcocks finale PWNED. I didn't know who Josh Groban was before this and I AM INFATUATED NOW. He may sing terrifying stuff ~~which may currently be growing on me~~ but the guy is awesome beyond reason <3
Simon/Josh may be attractive but I'm really shipping him with his hand because JOSH GROBAN'S HAND/ JOSH GROBAN = OTP.
Also, Simon singing on Phil's shoulder : cuter than a basket full of kittens Y/Y ?
I enjoyed this series but they really, REALLY need to get Bill Bailey back.
I will also be sulking into next year because we never got to see the Russell Brand episode.

Merlin finale tonight ! Probably thanks to my obsessive mind focused elsewhere, I remain 100% spoiler free. I have my suspicions because I saw people freak out but I can't wait finding out in the actual episode since it rarely happens that way for me anymore. I hope it will meet my expectations ! (not that I'm worrying since Merlin rarely disappoints).

You're probably wondering WTF I'm using this icon for by now so it's time to come clean.

This past week, thanks to a random post about the live action series, I fell back in an unexpected Sailor Moon kick. I never saw the end of the live action series so it was the opportunity. Except that I started from the beginning because I couldn't remember where I stopped. OH THE GLORIOUS CRACK. MY HEART, IT CAVED.
Eventually I saw some episode of the anime on youtube and thought that it would be kind of time, ten years after the end, to get my hands on the 200 episodes and 3 films and watch everything properly, uncensored and in japanese. Not that I have a gazilion things to watch already, noooo.
It's not my fault really, Sailor Moon is basically made of complete win. The live action series is addicting and the anime, from the few episodes I rewatched aged surprisingly well.

I should mention that I often said that the first show I had a real fannish obsession about was Buffy, which is not entirely true. Sailor Moon was the very first real fannish affair I had during my preteen years. Because I wasn't only watching the censored, badly dubbed version on the Club Dorothée obsessively, I was also making scrapbooks and collecting every items I could find on my beloved anime.

Rediscovering it today in all its glory feels very special. I read on a website that french censorship on the anime wasn't, in fact, about violence but principally concerned the established gay relationships and gay characters. Either they changed dialogues to make it look like a 'deep frienship' or they cut whole scenes altogether. Heaven forbid children to be exposed to the existence of homosexuallity, right ? Needless to say that I was shocked and appalled.

So that's my current quest, watching all things Sailor Moon, good and proper.
Surprising nostalgic rush of burried love is surprising.

ephyse in a while and it was great to have someone to squee about the fabulousness of House 5x04 <3 We also lol'ed about the hairdresser's apologies Simon Amstell read at the beginning of this week's buzzcocks. I'm so used to it now that I kinda forgot about the hair, lol.

WH Smith no sells english candy !! I brought some jelly beans and Cadbury chocolates ! You can't find any Cadbury chocolates in France, they only sell their cookies over here which is *such* a shame ! YAY.
I also bought this month's issue of DWM and we didn't find the novel version of Beautiful People, which was a shame.

We saw Tropic Thunder, AT LAST, since it only came out this week in France and I was happy because it met my exceedingly high expectations.

Robert ILU, each of your films I watch make me fall a little bit more in luuuuurve.

Also, SATAN'S ALLEY ONNA BIG SCREEN, MAN.

It made me both want to rewatch Iron Man and Zoolander XD

I think I'll see it again soon anyway.
