So London week was AWESOME. I posted my pics in a FB album here.

I won't go into details but highlights include Jonathan Groff being a total sweetheart, Wicked being way more amazing than anything I could have imagined and Lucy in the Sky playing during the NYE fireworks <3

SO SO GOOD.

We got back on sunday and I went online to have my eyeballs assaulted with

THIS UNFTACULAR OVERLOAD )

Also, here's a GORGEOUS Ste/Bren picspam/fanmix which also assaulted my eyeballs.

So taking a look at my 2010 year post, I need to do two things in 2011 :

Read more, like, way way more. Watch more old who. OMG those two lists were ridic short !

This amazing article summed up exactly what I felt about last year.
As a wise probation worker said, so long and fuck off, 2010.

We'll spend New year's Eve there and we'll be back on sunday.

Yes, I still want to hunt down the human beings in my icon while we're there.

So [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy, [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss and myself came home yesterday after a bitchin' London weekend of win !

We saw the matinee performance of Design for Living on saturday and loved it. It started a bit slow but I really really got into it by the second half of act 2 (SERIOUSLY, the scene where Otto and Leo got drunk together ? I COULD HAVE WATCHED THREE HOURS OF THIS SCENE ALONE, I DIDN'T WANT IT TO END) and loved it to bits til the end. Andrew Scott's performance was incredible and hilarious. He was so... Flamboyant and cracky, bouncing everywhere and speaking in his fantastic high pitched voice of his. He was very impressive. Tom Burke, who played Otto was incredibly dashing and charmed the hell out of me. The interactions between the characters were full of quick-witted humor and the set design was absolutely gorgeous, we spent a really nice, entertaining afternoon. I'm even kinda bummed that it's a play and there's no fandom because I ship Leo/Otto so hard I want a fic fix now, damn them !

Trailer for the play with some unexpected!Cumberbitch in it :D

We spent the following evening/night wandering around Picadilly, Leceister Square and Regent Street to see the Christmass decorations. We stopped by a Starbucks to try the Eggnog Latte (an aquired taste but it was good) and we walked by the Odeon where they had the uk HP7 premiere a couple of days earlier. So all in all, a very nice day 1 !

On sunday, we spent the rainy morning shopping in Camden Town. OH CAMDEN, HOW I MISSED THEE. EVEN THE RAIN DIDN'T SPOIL YOUR AWESOMENESS. I found these which I wanted since I first saw them online and got them in like, the first shop I looked when I thought I wouldn't find them at all \o/

The day went by fast (we did our obligatory trip to Forbidden Planet) and then it was time for BENEDICT AND EDDIE. (Cathy and I were dying of squee on the tube to get there, it was epic).

I thought that the Children's Monologues would be quite hard to get through and maybe a bit too depressing but it really wasn't. The play was outstanding, the whole cast (who only did a rehearsal all together on the day of the performance) was very good and the variety of the stories picked, even if it was harrowing at times because some of those stories were still difficult to take in, made each of the performances from the actors interesting and riveting in very different ways.
I'm extremely biaised, I know, but Benedict's piece was my favorite ! It was both hilarious and quite moving. The way he acted against thin air and yet made me almost see the imaginary teenager who he was talking to was just brilliant. Eddie's bit about a boy excited for his birthday was extremely funny as well and he used the space on stage really well. Nathan (Misfits' Curtis) and the girl he was paired with did great too, Ben Kingsley's piece had me in tears and I loved the closing piece about the boy who loved oranges. Every single story was interesting one way or the other, we once again really enjoyed ourselves and had an amazing time.

video itw with Benedict, Ben Kingsley and Gemma Arterton about the play.

The stage door afterwards was surprisingly way less crowded than we thought it would be. The actors came out quickly and Eddie Redmayne had even appeared before we got there so we caught him on our way and he was such a sweetheart ! Cathy died of course but mostly inside, which was of the good. He was in a rush but took the time to personalize our autographs and took a pic with Cathy, he was very VERY handsome irl and was all NO WAI when we said we came from Paris to see the play.
Nathan had the extremely good idea (not for us tho) to come out at the same time as Benedict so we couldn't stop him while he made a quick exit, which was a bit of a shame. Benedict was expectedly super sweet and kind with everybody, he signed and took pictures with everyone who wanted to and gave me goosebumps everytime he spoke with his soft velvety voice in my general direction, or looked at me with his blue blue blue eyes of blueness. I really really dig the blond now, I think it suits his features and it contrasted nicely with his tight black leather jacket (which I couldn't help but stroke when we took our picture /perv).

So, yes, GREATNESS AGAIN on day 2.

Yesterday we just had a full english breakfast at the Cillantro and did a bit of shopping before taking the train back

I don't have the pics in my possession since I didn't take them and can't have access to them right now but maybe I'll get to post them eventually.

In other news, I saw Misfits' series 2 premiere and OMG STILL SO GORGEOUS AND EPIC. What a great start ! I loved that it was kinda Simon centric and I realized how much I missed Nathan's twatishness from hell ! GAAAHHHH LOVE THAT SHOW. Next week looks rad !

I caught up on the intrawebz and was greeted by :

1. an EPIC Van interview where he is a total dork (I also want to see your big face, bb).

2. Jake Silb will play Jonathan Harker in an off broadway production of Dracula.

3. Benedict will play the monster and his creator every other night in Frankenstein (WHICH I WILL TRY TO SEE AND COMBINE WITH THIS).

(I love the timing of 2 and 3)

SO MUCH AWESOMENESS IN THE NUKE FANDOM LAST NIGHT I STILL FEEL DIZZY.

** KERI ([livejournal.com profile] oktoberskies) made a new Nuke vid for Holly's bday and I can't stop watching it since then *LOVES*

luke/noah; here we go again

** We *finally* got some Hansis news (stop being MIA you ho!) which made me realize how much I missed his face. First, Ryan from BlazinRy Radio (who is an old college pal of Jake and did a cracky 'college reunion' itw with him a few weeks ago) announced that he would do a radio interview with Van in december. And yes the fact that Van's getting interviewed by a friend of Jake totally made my night #JansisForLife
AND THEN, awesome nukie ninjas decided to strike and release 6568793649687469 new headshots he did in LA recently (only one of them is in HQ but BOOOY). VAN HANSIS IS FLAWLESS. We shall also have a video itw with Welovesoaps very soon so, MY VAN HANSIS FANGIRLY HEART IS FINALLY SATISFIED.

** Meanwhile, Jake (that other ho) keeps teasing us on FaBo about exciting news coming up and you better meet the expectations you're creating, Silbermann. He is also displaying a ridiculous amount of awesomeness by liking comments about Goutman and his asshole ways.

** Darren Criss on glee was seen and fangirled intensely over ! I loved the episode and Blaine is so far just as cool as he said he would be in his interviews *hearts* Darren was trending worldwide on twitter on tuesday night and there's already rumors that he is about to get promoted as series regular ! I'm so proud of him omg !
I was immediately on board with Kurt/Blaine, even if I still am a Sam/Kurt shipper and I still believe in it (especially with the latest spoilers). Let's hope for a triangle, even!
It also made me rewatch AVPM and STILLSOMUCHLOVE. "Quirrel... Ok is wonderful !" is like, one of my favoritest moment of anything, EVER!

** I'm still enjoying Hollyoaks's twisted Ste/Bren storyline and even if right now, I feel really uncomfortable shipping them, next week's spoilers could change that reaaaally fast. Steven is totally mah BB, he hurts so prettily and is so sweeeet <3 Brendan is a pure delight. The more psycho he gets, the more I bloody love him. Emmett is incredible in the role.
Here's an epic Brendan centric fanvid set very fittingly to Radiohead's Creep :

BRENDAN, YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARD AND YOUR MAGNIFICENT PORNSTACHE.

** I'm off to London this weekend! WHEEEEEEEEEEEE IT'S BEEN A WHOLE YEAR SINCE I'VE BEEN WHICH IS VERY LONG FOR ME. I come back on monday night. We'll enjoy some plays while we're there and most importantly feast our eyes ON SOME ACTORS RELEVANT TO OUR FANNISH INTERESTS !
We'll see Design for Living on saturday with Andrew Scott (Sherlock's Moriarty) and on sunday night, tiem to enjoy on stage MAI LOVE,

BENEDICT

CUCUMBERPATCH

and other lovely actors and actresses such as Eddie Redmayne *noms*, Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley, Charlie Cox, Romola Garai, Curtis from Misfits and many more in the Children's Monologues, a play directed by Danny Boyle. ... AMLDKAMLSDKSAMLDKASLMDKALMSDKASLD!!!!!!!!!11!!1 MY EXCITEMENT. LET ME SHOW U IT.

** I'm a major dork. I'm kinda allowing myself to hope that we could find Charlie. I KNOW IT WON'T HAPPEN BUT I CAN'T HELP IT.

** Speaking of, Misfits series 2 starts tonight ! I AM ALSO EXCITEEEED. It'll feel so good to have the awesomest brat ever on my screen again <333 Hope I'll have time to catch up with it before we leave on saturday.
Tomorrow is raclette partay at [livejournal.com profile] castalie & [livejournal.com profile] nicelyobsessed's place, I AM ALSO EXCITE. I THINK IT IS MY ONLY MODE THIS WEEK.
rosengirl: (White Collar : Ménage à Trois)
I can't believe I've actually opened semagic to write it lol.

So I won't go into too many details but let's just say that we were lucky and on a roll !

Epic adventures of fannish Epicness are Epic )

I'm going back to the UK this weekend (Nottingham) to see SIMON AMSTELL !! I AM SO EXCITED I CAN BARELY CONTROL MY SQUEE. Oh. My. God. It better be fucking epic !

In other news I had my fastest addiction to a new show + fandom ever with the pilot episode of White Collar *points to icon*

It's sassy, shiny, classy and UBER SLASHY.

I'm already dying of the wait for 102 and have read pretty much every slash fics produced in the (already impressively active) fandom.

Oh and also today's SJA Killed. Me. OF AWESOME !! (re : the next tweet batch).
rosengirl: (Chuck : run for your lives)
WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!

I'm currently packing stuff for my awesome fangirly weekend in London with [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss and [livejournal.com profile] ephyse !

This fannish trip entails :

- Tim Minchin's Read For This show tomorrow night
- John Barrowman in drag in La Cage Aux Folles on saturday afternoon
- JOHN SIMM IN SPEAKING IN TONGUES ON SATURDAY NIGHT YUUUUUUUUS !!

There's also plans to go to the Hawley Arms and the Tate Britain at some point.

It's going to be Epic !

YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE IS EPIC ?

WHY, THE LAST 6 EPISODES OF CHUCK SEASON 2 !

I... It just made me expire from squee. Between Awesome, Brice Larkin and Scott Bakula and and the burning hotness of Tricia Helfer AND THE UPGRADED INTERSECT.

Just major \o/

(I even had to make space for a Chuck icon, that's how FTW it was.)

Criminal Minds and Glee finished me off because they also ROCKED this week.
Now I'm waiting for Sarah Jane to dl and I'm reading Chuck fics (ZOMG CAN IT BE JANUARY ALREADY ?)

I wholeheartedly approve of the glimpse of the new TARDIS interior. I wasn't expecting this at all but I love the steampunk feel and the fact that it kept the current one's colour scheme.

I'll end this post with the prettiness that is the new Legend of the Seeker season 2 promo poster :

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ )

*happy sigh at life in general*
rosengirl: (BSG : Gaius'pretty brain)
So yes, I'm back from my fabulous 4 days in London and we had a blast !

We did all the touristy things we had never done like Tussauds (2 hours spent doing extremely silly poses with the wax!people) and the London eye. I saw some parts of Camden that I didn't know before and hung around in Covent Garden which is a lovely part of the city. Hurm I'm QUITE ASHAMED by that particular part of the day because we stumbled upon the Ivy and [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss had to spell it out for me BECAUSE I COULDN'T REMEMBER THAT IT WAS THE RESTAURANT OF TENNANT/SIMM DRUNKEN PICTURES FAME. I died of embarassement afterwards and we stupidly forgot to go back and take some pics of it. *headdesk*

I bought two somethings from Topshop for the very first time. We (as in me and [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy) robbed the Forbidden Planet of almost EVERYTHING Watchmen related and put my Comedian and Ozy action figures to work on that night. I'm lucky I didn't break them (Ozy lost a leg at some point but we succeeded to put him back together lol).
I'm completely doing this out of order now but it doesn't matter.

We spend friday night at the Hawley Arms and had two englishmen buying us drinks :)

We saw James McAvoy's play, Three Days of Rain and it was very good. I prefered the past tale of the second act but I will never forget James doing totally gratuitous slutty hip moves on the mattress during the first act, because DAMN. We saw him afterwards and he was incredibly nice, he signed everyone's program and made sure that he did them all before going back in.

Sunday night was Watchmen in all its IMAX glory time and BOY WAS IT GLORIOUS. The scale matched Ozy's fierceness tremendously well. [livejournal.com profile] ephyse even ended up loving the film even though she loathed it the first time she saw it. We were quite pleased by that fact.

Monday, the fact of having slept something like 15 hours total during the weekend started to hit and we wnet through the days acting like knackered zombies but we got to eat at that delicious bento cafe in Camden that I love so it was all good. We also had some time for a second trip at HMV where I weirdLy ended up buying Nite Owl and Rorschach and Brideshead Revisited.

The whole weekend was also spent with me and [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss annoying [livejournal.com profile] ephyse to no end by singing Flight of the Conchords songs. ACE <3

There's pictures to go with all this but I haven't got them yet. I'll probably do a picspam later this week.

Since I got back, I spent a ridiculous amount of time procrastinating on [livejournal.com profile] ontd_ozy. I went to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist with [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss and [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy and I caught up with the latest Supernatural and the last ever Battlestar Galactica.

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist was bloody ADORABLE. Mostly due to Michael Cera being himself and his fabulous gay band. I didn't expect gayness at all so all that surprise!gay was just the icing on the cake.

Supernatural 416 is all that everyone's gushing about and more. The Bro and I weren't let down in that respect and we also loved the incredibly dark tone. My brain doesn't compute the CW logo anymore.

However, THANK GODS that we restrained from seeing the Battelstar Galactica finale first because SPN would have lost 150 points of amazingness.

I STILL HAVE NO WORDS TO EXPRESS HOW FUCKING BEAUTIFUL THAT FINALE EPISODE WAS. I love how they closed those four epic years of struggle and some of those last shots took my breath away.

I spent the last 30 minutes of it crying. I even cried for the death of someone I never liked. And I cried again later that night watching a picspam of the episode ;__;

I saw that some people have problems with the last scene but I only thought it was made of 57 flavours of win upon watching it.

I am now excited as frak to go to THIS in a month \o/

I haven't had the strength to see the Flight of the Conchords finale yet because two amazing series ending for good on the same night would have been too much.

TONIGHT IS KAAMELOTT NIGHT !! AND WE'RE ALL GOING !! I REALLY REALLY REALLY CAN'T WAIT TO BE TONIGHT OMG ! *clings*

I'm going to wear the Perceval tee my bro got me for Christmas, it's only fitting that the first time I got to wear it is today :D
