SO, THIS HAPPENED.

So ! A bit of a (short) report to say that ephyse and I had a blast in Manchester !

The city was awesome, full of lovely people, great shops and pretty christmas decorations. We stayed in a gorgeous hotel where they had flats instead of rooms ! We had everything including room service and a delicious breakfast served every morning.
We also had a dvd player which was quite distracting because we managed to watch the whole of Oz season 1. It was unsurprising love at first sight with eph and we just couldn't stop til the season was over. I am definitely starting my Oz watching where I left it last time (413) again because I ended up having Oz cravings like woah thanks to that little marathon of win.

We didn't go crazy with the shopping compared to Brighton and I only bought some cds and dvds (Josh Groban Live...... I know rite.), the Donna action figure and I found a bunch of Ten/Donna books and The Story of Martha at the airport just before leaving. The amount of Mighty Boosh merchandising everywhere was *mad* and we definitely would have bought some if we haven't had it all already XD

We were dead excited for the live show which was on tuesday night and had Robots In Disguise rejects make up on for the occasion. The MEN Arena was smaller than expected and we had awesome seats, considering that we had last minute tickets. We loved it to bits and were glad to have been bold enough to take that second trip in order to see the show properly (we missed the first act in Brighton).
The boys were in great shape and I adored the bit with the Crack Fox. My current love for Julian cannot be mesured anymore <3
We had a threat from Noel during the Tony Harrison sketch when he's stuck in his chair. He said that he felt like Davros all confined like that. That alone, made us squee but then he added something like "if only David Tennant was there" aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand we died. At least my right thigh died when ephyse squeezed the life out of it.
But seriously though, hearing Noel Fielding speak David Tennant's name probably will keep on making me squee into next year :D

Oh and the other gleexplosion came when he kissed Rich, twice.

You could also tell that it was their last gig before their christmas break because they kept cracking up a whole lot more than last time, it was very relaxed.

Anyway <3

We spent the walk back to the hotel making up silly!v.serious meta about Noel and Julian's partnership that night. They had consumed our brain with renewed vigour.

That's enough babbling for now, let's end on a picspam. I took most of my pics from our awesome ride on the 60 meters high Manchester giant wheel which is why most of them are blurry.

Since I'm feeling less crap today I might as well do the Boosh weekend report now.

So ephyse and I came all the way from Paris to Brighton last friday to go to the Boosh live performance of that night and the book signing on saturday. All was supposed to be well and shiny with the world except that our eurostar was cancelled without warning and we ended up missing the first act of the show. We were gutted as hell, as you can imagine, but the rest of the weekend fortunately made up for that dreadful start.

For one, we arrived at the Brighton Center about 5 minutes before people came out for the break and had the merchandising table all to ourselves (the program is made of 57 flavours of win !). Then we went to find our seats and had the great surprise to find that we had *MUCH* better seats than we thought and had a perfect view of the stage, which was much more closer than expected !
We had no trouble following the second act since it's completely separated from the first and we loved it SO MUCH ! Of course I can only judge from half of it but as good as it was, I still prefer the first live show, mainly because it had structure. What they did here was also *really* good but it had less... Meaning ? I liked it more when it was one big adventure.

Anyway, it was made of awesome.

The chemistry was stonger than ever and you could really tell that they were all enjoying themselves quite a lot ♥

It ended way too quickly (of course missing the first part didn't help). We went to the stage door afterwards and saw a bit of Rich molesting Noel against the dressing room window. Julian obviously never came to the window but we could see him and Noel through the curtains and we just stayed there, chatting excitingly about the show and staring dreamingly for several minutes. Noel came down still in his Nanageddon dress at some point, waved at us from behind the glass windows and asked something to the security guard before coming back upstairs. Now, the next day (yes, we also stalked the stage door on saturday *hides*) we heard a girl say that apparently, Noel was distracting the fans so that Julian could leave without being noticed. I don't know if it's true but if it is, let me flail into oblivion.
That night Mike passed right in front of us quickly (he really is ridiculously tiny) and came out on saturday night again.
Rich also made silly poses at the window on saturday night and only Julian and Noel came at the signing so this means that we never saw Dave ! We were quite sad about that fact.

Brighton is a lovely city full of cute little streets with shops, pubs and people everywhere. The weather was not particulary great but it didn't rain ! The sea was pretty and the city had an awesome retro-looking Pier with an amusement park at the end which made us imagine that we were in Blackpool XD

The hostel was also to die for ! We had an adorable room on the ground floor with a HUGE king-sized bed, a cute sofa, a fluffy carpet and a widescreen telly which was perfect for our Merlin watching on saturday evening. The bathroom had 7187373 towels, two bathrobes and a sink so awesome that we did consider stealing it. They served us the most delicious breakfast every morning in a very cute dining room. We told the owner that he would definitely see us again when we left on sunday.

The city never sleeps (at least on weekends) we went back to the hotel around 0.30 am on friday night and came back out at 5.15 am (yes, we *really* wanted to get those tickets for the signing) and there was as much people laughing and hanging out outside the pubs, it was like no time had passed at all.


The lady from City Books was a also a boosh fan so she was sweet enough to not make us wait for the store to open and discreetely gave us the tickets right away. We saw her again after the signing and could chat with her a bit more. She had her book signed as well.

The signing went really, really, REALLY well. We went to the queue around 12 pm and let our blood pressure rise til Julian and Noel's arrival.
Apart from some hysterical fans who deserved to be punched in the face, the wait went relatively well. The people around us seemed a bit taken aback by the fact that we were speaking french so it was quite for the lulz.
Noel and Julian arrived by cab right in front of the queue and we turned our heads toward them when we heard all the mad screaming. It was hilarious because Noel came first (he had his long green leather coat with the fur at the collar <3) and waved at the queue with a blinding smile while Julian... Well Ju followed looking the opposite way as if he hadn't noticed the crowd screaming at him. LOL. His awkwardness is so very precious ♥
Then it all went down quickly since the security was oh so keen on making us moving along. I tried to take some pics without blinding them too much and eph told me afterwards that Noel was taking the pose and smiling for me everytime I was looking down at my camera to see if the pic had been taken *facepalm*

I asked ephyse to go before me because I knew she would be more able to say something not completely stupid and she told them that they had two french fans. They both looked up at us and said "wow thanks !" Noel asked us where we came from and we told him that we came from Paris. He looked at us with the sweetest dreamiest smile possible and said that he loved Paris. I had the time to tell him that it was a great city before the security moved us along and I heard them told us 'good luck' before we left.

Needless to say that we spend the afternoon randomly shouting 'WE SAW NOEL AND JULIAN !' and dying of a glee overdose.

WOW. I watched it 10 times already. I'm glad it's rated R and looking so damn gorgeous.
It really makes me want to read the comics.

EDIT : I also was too weak and took a look at the Doctor Who preview for the Christmas Special.

The CiN Merlin was adorable and I was very pleased by Arthur's innapropriate stroking *grins*
I also loved the special for Ashes to Ashes even if Chris'highlights freaked me the hell out and made it hard to focus on the rest.

Oh and Simm is a tease. If he doesn't in the end, I will break something.

It's been a long time since I did a multi-fandom header but the idea struck me two days ago and I don't know why, really.
The London pic used for the header was taken by myself 3 years ago, I altered the hell out of it with potatoshop.

And yes, those are totally Ten's pinstripes in the background XD

I updated the links, *finally* \o/
I also changed all the old pics from the sidebar and stopped them from moving this time because that display got annoying.
It's only the current OTP's and talented people who have my burning lust admiration and squee, in no particular order (for the later).

Hahaha ephyse just texted me that she saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang 4 times since I lended the dvd to her (last saturday XD), and she basically told me that I rock her world. I'm glad hon ! *glomps*
I saw Wonder Boys btw, and really really loved it. It's not a lack of objectivy due to my state of extreme Robert Downey Jr worshiping because not only the film was good in its own right but Michael Douglas blew me away in it and I am not even a fan.
My flist tell me that I should watch Fur and the Singing Detective next.

2. I've just made my parents change the date of the weekend when we were going to visit my grandparents because GUESS WHAT ? They picked the weekend of april 4 at first *REPEATEDLY HEADDESK*. I may have panicked a little and I must have looked totally insensitive but HUM I COULDN'T COPE WITH THE IDEA OF SEING DW 401 3 DAYS LATER.
So we're going this weekend instead *LE SIGH OF RELIEF* (Cath, is it still okay for cinema friday ?). That was teh fifteen guilty minutes of my day.

3. I've watched the live links of the Boosh Night and Julian and Noel KILLED ME DED WITH THE POWER OF THEIR LOVE. I had to icon their accoustic version of Future Sailors *points to icon*. I love watching Julian play guitar, GUH.

4. I have finally started to read the legendary A Journey Through Time and Space since it's now finished and OMFG that fic is made of 57 flavours of win <3

I would also recommend versaphile's latest jewel aka teh colossal Ten/Master fic of DOOM aka Praxis. It's her own take on The Year That Never Was and it's been brilliant so far. I'm more than willingly accepting this as my canon. She posts a chapter every monday and I am (and I know for a fact that it's also angeliksmall's case) personally hooked.

5. No flist, stop shouting, I WILL NOT CLICK ON THE TORCHWOOD FINALE SPOILERS OF DOOM LINKED EVERYWHERE. I AM DONE WITH BIG BAD SPOILERS ABOUT FINALES KTHXBAI.

6. I HAVE RECEIVED PANIC AT THE DISCO'S PRETTY ODD AND SKINS SERIES 1 WOOOOOOOOOOOT !!1
