rosengirl: (HP : AVPM Pigfarts Pigfarts here I come)
I'm back in France, sadly, because I had the most amazing of times in Scotland.

I saw some gorgeous places and stayed in beautiful and interesting cities (Edinburgh, Inverness and Glasgow).

I had the chance to spend a lovely evening with the awesome [livejournal.com profile] marah_sarie and enjoyed some of the Edinburgh festival with the hilarious Scottish Falsetto Puppet theater and Rhys Darby's new standup show which was made of complete win.

I already miss spending so much time with [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss, [livejournal.com profile] abella_08 and [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall, the breathtaking beauty of the Lochs, the LOTR-ish magnificence of Isle of Skye and most of all, the sweet sweet melody of bagpipes in the streets and men in kilts.

I'll do some sort of report with pictures asap.
Right now I'm going to try catching up with the Flist and squee over my shiny new Black Guardian Thrilogy which came by the mail while I was away (heeee ♥TURLOUGH♥)
rosengirl: (TW : COE (OT3))
First of all I got the results of my exams and I passed !

I HAZ ANOTHER DIPLOMA \o/

Second of all, if the first episode was anything to go by, TORCHWOOD WEEK IS GOING TO BE TEH EPIC TO END ALL EPIC.

Children of Earth 301 or how to start with a bang )

INTENSE COMING WEEK IS GOING TO BE INTENSE.
rosengirl: (DW : Ten destroyed)
My final two oral exams went really well and my course is definitely and officially over !
I'll know if I have that bloody diploma on the 8th of July and I'll still have to complete my apprenticeship since my contract ends at the beginning of september. After that I'll be able to know the joys of unemployment and job hunting ! *iz nonetheless stupidly happy*

So like I said last week, I took my first real opportunity of guilt free procrastination to make a new header. It turned out a bit angsty but hum, you know, omg *dies*

I was tempted by MGG and A2A but in the end old obsessions die hard and I am convinced that this header will be relevant to my interests til the end of the year, at least *excited grin*

What else can I say... I'm meeting with [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss tomorrow to see the Hangover and I'm going to [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall's birthday party on saturday <3

I also watched Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (still <3) today and I intend to rewatch the other 4 before Half Blood Prince comes out.
rosengirl: (DW : Ten/Master true love hurts)
I'm a bit busy at the mo because I have two major oral exams next week to prepare and it's hard because I've become so FED UP with my technical project that keeping reading about it makes me almost sick :/
What's good though is that those are the only two exams left before I can just chill and do nothing apart from fangirling all day and enjoying the sun... And work since I'm on holidays in august but let's not think about that.

On a more YAY front I'm rewatching Torchwood series 2 to prepare myself for COE and it is mostly win. I remembered how much hardcore Owen had become and how foxy Martha was in those episodes (and their cute doctors banter omg <3).

I've also found my love back for my true OTP aka Doctor/Master thanks to Chasing the Paradox which is A-MA-ZING. It's long and so well written. The plot is full of wibbly wobbly timey wimey goodness and the Doctor and the Master are incredibly true to character. I'm in the middle of it and it's really hard to focus on work related things, to be honest.

Funny how the Criminal Minds fandom made me forget that brilliant fic authors could exist somewhere !

So I was falling in love with them all over again which meant that I randomly felt the urge to rewatch Utopia/Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords last night and you know what ? IT WAS SO AWESOME THAT I WAS FLAILING ALL OVER THE PLACE. A bit like if I was watching them for the first time. Sure, LOTL has some ridiculous moments but it's lulzy and the good stuff easily outweights the bad. By that I mean MARFA'S INCREDIBLE AMAZINGNESS AND ALL OF THE DOC/MASTER TEXT. It still made me cry twice and I loved that it could still have this effect on me despite the fact that I knew what would come next.
Idk, I think this is my favourite series ending of Nu Who. I always thought it was Parting of the Ways because it's less ridiculous in the end but I have less flail for it, too.

Anyway, next thursday will mean FREEDOM for me and I will probably use that free time to do a new header or something, the Boosh one is SERIOUSLY out of date by now.

OH AND CHECK OUT MY NEW MOODTHEME OF WIN. IT IS SO FIERCE THAT YOU CAN'T LOOK DIRECTLY AT IT FOR TOO LONG.
Courtesy of the awesomely awesome [livejournal.com profile] magicallaw <3<3<3
rosengirl: (DW : Next Doc boys just want to have fun)
Woot !

Ski week turned out to be made of 57 flavours of win. I remembered how amazing skiing can be and I am now sore like a motherlicker but I don't regret one second !

Mock exams went also well and were few compared to the amount of fun that came with it. I scored the highest mark of the class on the english oral presentation :D

I'm pretty much knackered at the moment and I won't have the courage to go through a week of Flist so if something important happened this week, fandom wise, I would be glad if someone could drop me a comment ^^

EDIT : and THIS MAN is my new hero btw.
rosengirl: (HIMYM : Barney/Robin BWZUH ??)
I didn't have much time for updates this week, mostly due to dull school work and awesome japanese restaurant night yesterday with a bunch school buddies.

I fell down some stairs for the second time in three weeks earlier today. I don't know what it means for me and 2009 but I can't say we're getting off to good start. Oh and I just can feel that my back and leg will have giant bruises and I'm leaving on sunday for a week long school trip of skiing and mock exams (in the middle of nowhere, the coldest part of France and with like, dorms and 3 showers for 40 people. But we should be grateful that the showers have doors, apparently. Joy.) Perfect timing. It would be so hilarious if I was on a roll and break a leg after one day, or something. /sarcasm

My week was fortunately saved by good telly watching.

How I met your mother 4x13 - Three Days of Snow )

House 5x12 - Painless )

I've also watched the Sunday Night Project with Catherine Tate, SO FUNNEY. I highly recommend it (there's DW jokes and hilarious camp sketches, as usual). I'm so smitten with that wonderful redhead ! I do not know how she can alway be so amazing, but she is.
I'm also currently in an Alan Carr kick since I read his highly entertaining autobiography (and spending hours on youtube watching some bits of his stand ups over and over) so it was twice as great.

Oh and [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss, I finally watched IT, and am officially BLOWN. AWAY. BY HIS SKILLS. His take on South Park and the Fresh Prince are incredible

*Grobanite*

ETA : [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy, I have seen the first 2 episodes of Junjou Romantica and just... XD That's completely what I was expecting. (expect maybe the impressive level of funny!disturbing of Usami which is amusing me to no end XD)
rosengirl: (Dexter : killing has never been so hot)
Well done French National Train Company, you have outdone yourself in the worst possible way imaginable.

.... *claps*
rosengirl: (PGSM : schoolgirls fighting crime)
Mah fangirls, I luff them.

♥♥♥
rosengirl: (TMB : Noel halo)
I won't even say whose pic I brought to my hairdresser.

I don't pick stuff up, I knock stuff down ! )

Fanturday tomorrow ! I'm seeing [livejournal.com profile] ephyse, [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy, [livejournal.com profile] tya_rc and [livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss freshly back from Canada, if we're lucky. We will pick the christmas issue of NME, which has an hilarious photoshoot with the Boosh boys (all kinds of wrong = \o/) <3

I'm also on holidays yay ! I'm leaving for Manchester with [livejournal.com profile] ephyse on monday for our second Mighty Boosh trip (I quite like those, we should totally do them once a month from now on, right ? XD). We will come back on wednesday for christmas and then there's this little thing called the Next Doctor (D-6) airing the very next day, TEEHEE. I am really looking forward to next week.
rosengirl: (Dexter : killing has never been so hot)
After an atrocious school week full of mock exams (it's only the second week dudes, chill the fuck out !) and written reports. But at least I am at my company for two week (and then I'll go to a meeting about european aprenticeship in bercy the week after and meet our delightful Mr President ... *sarcasm* But at least the subject is interesting and cool except that we will go on stage to do a choerography representing the european flag *facepalm x infinity*

It did prevent me from posting but I did follow what was going on on teh intrawebs.

Notably awesome news like Jared and Jensen LIVING TOGETHER, man, did that improve my week.

[livejournal.com profile] fairy_bliss apparently blending in damn well in Canada, you go girl !

That annoyingly mysterious meme with just answers that I've been dying to do all week (and will soon enough).

Oh and about the latest writer's block which I *had* to answer since I rewatched all of the X-Files this year :

My all-time favourite XF episode is a tie between Beyond the Sea because it was the first Scully centric and it's just a *beautiful* episode (with a mindblowing performance from Brad Dourif) and Irresistible because it is one of the most disturbing episode of the show and it really was XF at its best.
Of course it's unfair to narrow it down to one since there's so many unforgettable episodes ! Other astounding ones for me include Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose, Memento Mori, The Post-Modern Prometheus, How the Ghosts Stole Christmas and so on.
<33333333 XF <333333333

I've also caught up with season 2 of Dexter and I loved it to bits ! No, to be honest I had the hardest time getting into it at first because of the BIG TIME MARIE SUE they added to the cast but her story took an exciting direction later on and when Doakes showed up again all was right with the world ! I saw the finale this morning and kept yelling at my computer screen because it was *that* good. Michael C. Hall is dead impressive *_____*
I may be dling an advenced copy of the season 3 premiere right now.

I also got my hands on the first couple of episodes of Secret Diary of a Call Girl series 2 because a bit of fine eyecandy never killed anyone. Might do a review later.

Today we saw Get Smart with the bro, [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy and [livejournal.com profile] tya_rc and IT ROCKED V. HARD.
Steve Carell is my hero !

I also have this announcement to make : THE MIGHTY BOOK OF BOOSH IS TOO EPIC FOR ITS OWN GOOD. TIS THE MOST EPIC BOOK FOR A TVSHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. SO VERY GORGEOUS OMG.

*pokes Dexter*
rosengirl: (DW : old skool Eight)
WOW almost a whole week without posting. It must really mean that I'm kind of disconnected lately.

First week at school was not bad, I made two of my school friends meet mah beloved bunch of fangirls on friday night to see the Dark Knight (the fourth time seems to be my limit because I still liked it this time around but it felt painfully long again) and eat japanese and it went rather well :) Well I guess they were a little intimidated at first but the atmosphere was much more relaxed by the time we were at the restaurant.

I also spend a lovely couple of hours with [livejournal.com profile] ephyse all to myself on that same day and I can't remember the last time we really had a chat like this but it really was fantastic *glomps her other half*

I've started to rewatch House season 3 with my mum and the Tritter arc is still so slashy it's EPIC. It kinda fills the void til season 5, too.(D-9 !)

Yesterday I also spent a nice day with [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy and we went to see Deception with Ewan McGregor and Hugh Jackman.
The ending was pants but I really liked the rest of the film. There were some obvious clichés but it was nicely balanced by the awesome photography (some shots were *so* pretty !) and the flawless peformance of both Jackman as an asshole and McGregor as an adorkable loser. The first half hour was just made of fan service for slashers, my smile was so big it hurt.
It just too damn infuriating, and that's the first thing I told Cath at the end, that when a film is made about a twisted relationship between two gorgeous guys, you always have the obligatory useless pretty chick with no personality stuck between them. The film would have worked just as fine without Michelle Williams' character since the game between the two male leads was already enough to make the film interesting. And the ending wouldn't have been ruined.

There's also been quite a lot of cool things on the net this week :

Notably the *awesome* Who spoilers about the specials that keep on going. It makes me so happy and hopeful and the thing that excites me the most is not even Read more... )

The Sarah Jane Adventures series 2 trailer is A BIT MAGNIFICENT OMG ! Rock on, Sept 29 !

Fandom produced yet another brilliant fanvid, namely Martha > You which sums up the total pwnage that is Miss Jones in 3:10' of gorgeous editiing. Mathaaaa UNF.

The Mighty Boosh on Jonathan Ross was awesomecakes as usual. I *adored* that they chose the Massive Gheyist bit to introduce them XD
I really <3 Noel, he's not even manly when he plays football. Julian was adorable but really needs his hair back -_-
I am DYING for the Mighty Book of Boosh to come out since its awesomeness seems impossibly insane. The tour starts next week, I can't wait to be there !
I was also deeply amused but unsurprised that they chose Eels to perform on telly. Ju was sorchingly HOT in a Hitcher costume *_________*

And I will leave you with this hilarious morning discovery :

Hamlet, Facebook news feed style
rosengirl: (DW : Ten/Master cracklulz)
*CRACKS UP AT HER GIP* (again, thank you SO much for sharing it with me, [livejournal.com profile] lunadeath02. You're a total sweetheart <3).

I had a wonderful time with [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall on the phone tonight, but my mood changed quickly when I found old MSN chats saved and long forgotten and had the amazingly bad idea to read them.

As a result, I'm now brooding over two lost friendships that were dear to me. One that ended badly almost 2 years ago, the other a few months back.

I don't know... I try thinking about the bad sides of both relationships but with time the good memories come rushing back as well and it hurts to not have it anymore.

Right now I just want to not think and make contact again, on a whim. I know that's because I've just been remembered of the good times.
It probably would only succeed to make me hate myself in the morning because I think the first one is too long lost to do anything about it now, and the second... Well it's still recent but since there's been no sign from the other side, I'm pretty sure to be the only one to have not moved on. And I promised myself to not make the first step because, from the way it ended, it wasn't mine to make. But right now I just don't care because I miss her, I miss both of them.

I tried calling a friend so she could talk me out of it but I got no answer, so I'm writing this to exorcise it.

I feel depressed once every 5 years but when it hits, it hits hard.

EDIT : sorry flist for being all emo tonight, I'm surprised too *guilt*. Fortunately, I might be good for the next five years after that :)
rosengirl: (TMB : I'm the moon)
Yesterday afternoon, I finally found the time to check out the new local tattoo/piercing parlor in my city and had this done :

mah new piercing, let me show u it )

And last night, we went to see Penelope with [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy and not only was it the CUTEST. MOVIE. EVER., it was also cameo central !

Burn Gorman, Nick Frost and Russell Brand were all in it !

And Shaun Parkes (aka the tiemcock lover) was also in it, in a blink and you'll miss him kind of way (he was credited "reporter #2" XD)

I'm positive that we were the only two people in the room who did knew who they all were, because we were the only ones reacting each time (which wasn't at all surprising). We especially had a good laugh when Russell Brand appeared on screen.

Silly silly ignorant french people.

Oh and James McAvoy was impossibly hot <3

HAPPY DOCTOR WHO DAY FLIST !
rosengirl: (IT Crowd : look normal !)
While I'm waiting for my Skins dl to finish...

Better late than never, eh. )

I'm surprisingly looking forward next year's school trip now. I didn't know I could socialize this well with you know, regular people XD

SKINS TIEM NAO !!1

EDIT : OMG I JUST RENEWED THE LJ AUTOMATIC PAYMENT OPTION AND I AM NOW ALLOWED 3 MORE ICONS *SQUEE*

Is it sad that this alone totally made my day ?
rosengirl: (TMB : Saboo/Tony Harrison OTP)
I IS HAVING A BLAST !

STUTTGART IS AWESOMESAUCE AND ONE WEEK IS TOO SHORT !

The week seemed to have passed in the blink of an eye, I can´t believe tomorrow is the last day.
I want to stay one more week and keep having fun with the people in my class that aren´t sucky (fortunately they´re the majority) -_-
Tomorrow night we´re going to the opera and it will be a first for me.
I hope italian with german subtitles won´t make things too difficult to understand what´s going on... *snorts*

On the fannish front, HAI RICHARD AYOADE U IS PWNAGE X INFINITY.

The Abracadabra episode of the IT Crowd was the best thing ever, Moss is OMFG OMFG OMFG. That is all.

Just to prove my point in video format, one of my favourite Moss scene ever :

Fire. Exclamation mark. Fire. Exclamation mark. Help me. Exclamation mark. )

Finding good Moss icons will be one of my top priorities when I get back.

My flist is killing me with all the Torchwood reviews that I can´t read, but at least what´s not under cut seems very positive, therefore I CANNOT WAIT to be saturday.

EDIT : I forgot, hilariously enough it´s almost impossible to find merchandising about Tokyo Hotel in Germany. Adeline was looking for something to bring back to her little cousins and we struggled to find one poor little poster. But see, I have passionate H8 for this band and it doesn´t improve the opinion I have about our country´s tastes when it appears that they´re more popular in France than in their own country of origin. LOL.
rosengirl: (TMB : what goes on tour stays on tour)
From the graphic design & printing german school (where we´re not doing much at the moment, but they´re not cooperating)

The keyboard is all messed up and all the pages are in german but YAY !

Stuttgart is big and shiny, there´s lots of things to do at night so it´s great.
I watched series 1 of the IT crowd yesterday during the car trip and I kept being smacked because I was laughing so much XD
Moss is made of ultimate geeky love ZOMG ! *CRUSHES*
Noel is almost impossible to recognise except when he does some of his lovely acting quirks and Richmond is ACE <3

We arrived around 6 pm and then took our rooms which are actually far nicer than what we expected. We ate pizza and played poker before crashing to bed around midnight.

And this morning we found a starbucks on our way and it filled my heart with joy, of course. When far away from home, always look for a starbucks.

Since everybody seems to not bother with what we´re supposed to do, I´m going to check teh flist now, double YAY !
rosengirl: (TMB : bfqy07 nosferatuuuu)
So this is my last post and then I'm off for a week to Germany with my school. Hope it'll be fun.

What's less fun is that I have to get up at 5.30 am on a sunday and that we'll have 10 hours of bus trip ahead of us.
So I just bought a portable dvd player and I was lucky enough to recieve the IT Crowd series 1&2, Nathan Barley and Garth Marenghi's Darkplace (if you're wondering, all these shows have Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt in them *junkie in need of a fix*) from amazon which make me HAPPY AS HELL. The bus trip doesn't seem so awful, suddenly.

Today I went to see Cloverfield with [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall, [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy and [livejournal.com profile] vilyajade and I really liked it. Read more... )

Finally, I found the time to watch Ashes to Ashes and BOY WAS IT ORSUM. Not a review, just some things I love among lots of other things )

And on this high note, I'm off to bed. Good night flist :)
rosengirl: (TMB : buzzcocks the spoon concept)
75 episodes in January

And I've already watched 7 eps this month... Yes I've rewatched some Boosh, but it's not against the rules (and it's not like I can help it, duh !).

I'm back in school this week. I keep getting amazed at having good marks without doing much because that report so didn't deserve it.
We're leaving for Germany this sunday for one week. I've never been and I don't speak a single word of german but well. I get on really well with most of apart from 2 braindead bimbos my class so I'm sure it's going to be great... I just hope I'll have net access at some point !
