BAAAALE. SUCKEEEEHHH.
Jun. 21st, 2010 09:18 pmSo first of all Doctor Who had its most Epic first part of a finale ever. I watched it twice, I'm still not coherent about it and all I can say is that I've never wanted to be so spoiler free in my entire fannish life. I want my mind to get blowned the way the Moff intended it to be. In its own mystical time;
I hope (and I'm pretty confident) that he won't let me down with the last episode since I pretty much enjoyed the hell out of series 5. All of it. Some episodes were less awesome than others but there was always something memorable and epic or funny about each of them.
Also Matt, Karen and Arthur, be still my beating whovian heart.
I decided that I will do the TV meme that's been going round for a while to try and update more.
( TV meme - Day 01 - A show that should have never been cancelled )
I started Caprica and it's very interesting and so pretty ! The opening credits alone are so frakking gorgeous.
It's very different from BSG in that it's more like a family drama (the atmosphere reminds me of Kings a little bit) but the actors are very good and the story of the cylons creation is quite clever and nicely done (I've only seen the first two eps).
I also randomly started to watch True Blood and I'm 7 episodes into the first season. Well that's not true, I got coerced by
jedicathy and
fairy_bliss' infectuous enthusiasm about it.
So far it's cliché and cracky, most of the characters make me lol unintentionally (Bale and Suckeh in particular are hilarious) and the gratuitous sex is quite mindboggling. So it's nothing to fuss about but it's pleasant to watch and I know that it will get crackier and awesomer with the next season (also, Eric). One good point though is that it totally helped me get over my hate of vampire stories since the Twatlight phenomena ruined the genre for me.
I'm also totally supporting Jake Silbermann's wish to get a role in that show now, especially if it involves nekkidness and bloodsucking (he already has the teeth and the abs for it, even :D).
Speaking of, last weekend was the ATWT wrap party and OH MAMA.
TRY TO BE HOTTER, WHY DON'T YOU BOTH ?

Vincent and The Doctor was completely brilliant y/y ? It may be my new favourite of the season (and my fave historical ep from all of new who).
Kudos Richard Curtis, Tony Curran and Bill Nighy (for the most awesome cameo ever !). I loved the emphasis on the character's feelings and the continuity with the terrible, soulcrushing thing that happened at the end of the previous episode * LE SIGH*
It had the right amount of darkness, lolz, sadness and sweet moments. I was incredibly moved by it and as a former art student and lover, felt really connected to the story.
This series is simply amazing. I haven't felt so in love with Doctor Who since series 3 (which was the best dw series up until now for me. Unpopular as it may be.Well, less unpopular than series 2 hahaha.).

Let's talk about my two gorgeous, amazing, awesomely talented and busy Favorite Boys of All Time.
Van got a part in a stylish, creepy looking independent horror movie called Occupant.
And then he proceeded to do a tiny itw about it to KILL EVERYONE WITH HIS GORGEOUSNESS.
His hotness should be forbidden, for safety issues and stuff.
As for Jake... OH BOY. Well he's turning into a fine badass mofo tattooed all over to play a dealer in his short film Stuffer. And. Hum. ARE THEY BOTH TRYING TO KILL THEIR FANS ? Coz I've choked on my own drool by that point. That's not on.
Rest of the stills
My interest for this project just went through the roof. Be still my shallow heart.
Most importantly, I'm meeting these american gods in like, 32 days for the Nuke in Paris event. I DON'T THINK I'M READY. I TRY NOT TO THINK ABOUT IT OR MY HEAD WILL EXPLODE.
Tomorrow in ATWT, THIS HAPPENS :
I mean. ILU Reid but come on ! YOU HAD IT COMING. And now I just can't stop watching Noah punching your face over and over and over again. Also, Luke's face is all "oh well, I guess this was coming" which is LOLERSKATES.
In other news I got mah darling
fairy_bliss to fall hardcore for Johnny Weir, which makes me INSANELY HAPPY. WE HAVE THE BEST TASTE, TRUFAX. Shutup.

RESPECT THE THING.
May. 2nd, 2010 09:05 pmSo yes, doctor who ! Not much to say about The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone apart from the fact that they may be some of my favourite who episodes ever and one of the best nu who two parter to date (like, second to TEC/TDD).
( A bunch of random remarks )
Also also, you should all watch this series' Confidentials at all costs because every week :
MAZZA AND KAZZA ARE KEELING US WITH THEIR ADORBS.
I need to post about Kick-Ass and Iron Man 2 (which I saw) and my growing fascination with Johnny Weir but I'll save it for another post.

Several thingies and stuff.
Apr. 27th, 2010 08:05 pm** I am gutted about Legend of the Seeker's cancellation. GUTTED.
It needed at least another season of Cara and Kahlan's Epic Femslashy Love. Of Richard's Abs. Of badass fights and fierce Hairography. Of Lord Rahl's fabulousness. Of Zedd's incredible cockblocking skills. OF THE MINDBLOWING CRACK & LULZ THAT IT BROUGHT WEEKLY INTO MY LIFE.
Thank you for all of these, show. You were fantabulous and gone way too fast, I'll never forget you.
** I've completely fallen for yet another soap storyline (it's only like, my 5th... Hahaha.). This time it's Aaron's story from the british soap Emmerdale. It's actually a departure from the way gay storylines are usually treated in soaps and one of the most realistic, riveting, raw and heartbreaking story I've seen yet. It really takes twists and turns that are original and sometimes quite difficult to take in. The writing and acting are absolutely brilliant. Danny Miller is only 19 but is hopefully promised to a great acting career. His tears already have almost as much power as the mighty Simmtears ! (I've picspammed the sheer beauty of it here). Aaron is a very complex and damaged character which is why he is fascinating to watch.
Here's a great trailer for the story of Aaron :
The whole playlist is over here.
A good starting point is part 70, when he tried to kiss his best mate. Go through part 70-86 then jump forward to part 117 and keep going til the most recent parts.
indigo_5 did two awesome pimp posts here and here.
** Back to Doctor Who, I have some pretty awesome links to pimp :
Brand New Day by
humansrsuperior is an Epic Ode to the wonderfulness of Eleven n Amy. There's a bit of Matt n Karen thrown in for good measure and it's just incredibly awesome and flawlessly edited. IT MADE ME SQUEE AND FLAIL ALL OVER. So go watch.
A Crack in the Skin of the Universe by
zabbers is a fantastic ficlet set during the current series but from the Master's pov. I WOULD ACTUALLY DIE IF SOMETHING SIMILAR HAPPENED IN THE SHOW. But I bet it won't, damnit. Can you tell that I'm already hitching for the Master to come back ? C'mon Moffat, you know what to do in series 6.
And last but not least,
eleventy_kink because he's worth it.

I loved it ! It wasn't exactly a breathtaking episode (next week looks like it, tho !) but it was a fun, silly story and once again, Eleven rocked my socks off.
( Doctor Who 503 - Victory of the Daleks )
All in all, I don't think Gatiss'episodes are particularly memorable but this is by far my favourite.
Oh and speaking of teh Gatiss, he was so lovely in the confidential ! The Prodigy in the sountrack (hahaha BEST USE OF SPITIFIRE EVER) amused me because ironically, I missed the episode last night because I was at a (BITCHIN') The Prodigy gig.
So in conclusion :
GATISS > YOU.
